Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

While I've no interest in using them, and Hong Kong and mainland communist China are on my 'banned' list after visiting each multiple times over the years, does anyone have any predictions as to when major airlines Air China (not to be confused with China Airlines of Taiwan), China Eastern and China Southern may resume daily passenger flights to various Australian airports?

This should introduce more competition, and so contribute to fares to Asia and especially Europe being lower over time.

Xiamen Airlines has resumed, but it's a smaller mainland Chinese airline.
 
A China Southern plane arrived at SIN while we were waiting for our BKK flight. So they are in the air again

I had the same mindset untill I found $5,999 return J fares to europe on CX earlier in the year. All hail the CCP & their glorious OW J fares to Europe.
 
Well looks like China is a significant step closer to being fully open from early Jan. Hopefully this will see the return of more Chinese carriers and help to correct the airfare prices (especially to Europe).

That said, Japan has just reintroduced testing for passengers who have been in China in the previous 7 days… 3 years on and the cycle begins again 🙄

I can't imagine it will because while supply does increase a little in the form of Chinese carriers, demand will also increase significantly - so I can't see how prices will come down until carriers globally are flying their full compliment of aircraft - if that ever actually happens.

I saw recently comment that it takes 187 days to recommission an A380 after layup. Will be a long time before the major airlines are back to pre-covid capacity.

The aircraft that permanently left pax service during covid significant exceeds deliveries of new aircraft, at least in terms of capacity.
