Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

It doesn’t help the people stranded on the border living in tents. They would have to leave their cars and fly in 😞

How will QLD know you arrived international flights in Sydney and then flew to QLD? I mean as Australian citizen after 19 November.

I guess they are relying on people not lying.

The one thing good is she finally named dates and excluded unvaxxed. Hopefully that kicks a few butts into gear! Cue the complaints from antivaxxers! She should have excluded them from restaurants, clubs and such.

Well say you tested positive they may bother to check some flight records and also check with the appropriate Federal authority to make sure you were in the country the last 14 days. Not that they necessarily would do that, but it's possible and if caught out I imagine there would be serious consequences.

Totally agree- that's often the case with illegal acts, isn't it? Most drug dealers also might never be caught but IF they get caught, then all hell breaks loose for them.

So 80% double vaxxed can home quarantine. And if you fly into another city before 80% then must hotel quarantine until you have been in Australia 14 days.

The detail is missing completely for home quarantine at 80% for international arrivals. All other references on the map to quarantine mention the number of days required.

Hard to see AP and co. making it any less than 14 days of home quarantine, provided you have tested negative in the 72 hours prior to arrival into QLD. It's a mash-up of the other options. They are making fully vaxxed interstate travellers do this at 70%. International scares the living daylights out of them. Looking forward to a possible visit for summer 22/23

Sydney to Ballina is going to be one very popular route then for Qld people & family from the Sunny Coast south then.

Dom wants to see as many international students back to NSW as quickly as possible. A lot of these students would have had Sinovac as vaccine.
Somehow we managed to survive quite well without them for past 2 years. May be reducing dependence on China in any possible way is good thing?
I find that a bit offensive for those people who by no fault of their own were forced to get these vaccines and cannot enter Australia.
Key word here is 'Forced'.
So if state they currently in have no freedom of vaccine choice and western vaccines are banned there just to promote their own vaccines, why should we be more flexible?
To give their state propaganda another chance to celebrate another western country surrendered to their geopolitical power?
I know - that sounds ridiculous for you - but unfortunately that's exactly how things work over there :(
Even if they turn out to be poorly performing, what's the solution where only these vaccines are given overseas?
Solution is there if you really against the wall to find it. Vaccine tourism.
Friend of mine expat based in Singapore and stuck in Moscow took 2 quick runs to Serbia for Pfizer jabs and had no problem admitted to SIN any more.

Did not know we had become such a discriminatory nation.
IMO it's not we become discriminatory - its because some states are hostile and discriminatory against us in first place. Its called reciprocating approach.
We need to discriminate against authoritarian human rights violators like China, Belarus, Iran, Russia.

That only applies if it hits the 80% double vaccination mark. It could be earlier or later.

It will happen earlier because QLD is now embarrassed of its performance and situation. Trust me. Tide has well turned up here.

Who cares about the international part they wont get any real traffic until they match NSW and eliminate quarantine for fully vaxxed. Which everyone will, this is just to scare some regional country bumpkins to get vaccinated :)

That's absolutely rubbish for any Queenslanders who are hoping that overseas family members will be able to visit them. Doesn't look like that is possible until 90% fully vaccinated unless they fly into SYD or MEL and undertake 14 days of home quarantine, which seems unfeasible.

It's a long way off for them... but interesting that the QLD 90% fully vaxxed international entry appears a little less restrictive than the NSW version? Doesn't refer to inbound/pre-arrival testing. NSW is a reasonable chance at 90% fully vaxxed before, or around Nov 1; I wonder when/whether we'll give up the testing as well.

Hahaahah. Imagine living in Queensland.
Yes. Some can only wish.

So fly from Qld to Sydney or Melbourne and have a 14 day holiday with them there.

As each day passes and things become clearer and the "price match" policy of VIC/NSW keeps happening...I feel more tempted to write a letter as a resident of Victoria to the Premier of NSW thanking him for forcing Andrews and co to relent and let us out of the perpetual lockdown, curfew, and genuine feeling of no hope for months and months on end. And now we're talking about overseas holidays!! Thank you Dom indeed...

Good idea. While you are at it please don't forget to thank him, Gladys and colleagues for sending Delta down our way in the first place, and for their appalling lack of vaccination and PPE standards for limo drivers picking up international flight crew which sparked the outbreak in the first place... 🤬
