I think the 7 day quarantine (at least in NSW) will be gone before the TT border opens.
I also think that even if it were possible you would need to state on an arrival card from NZ that you had spent the previous 14 days there.

I agree the 7 day quarantine is just a very temporary measure until it’s killed all together will probably end up test and release at an absolute maximum.

The government(s) is/are just baby stepping people so they don’t shriek too much.

It looks like they're already going to trial shorter Q periods in Vic for essential industry such as supermarkets, food supply, medial, etc. Too many people out for too long at the moment placing too much strain on the system. If that works it's logical they will extend it to others.

Plus is highly unlikely anyone is paying much attention to them anymore anyway. Especially now so many people are double vaxxed.

Massive drop off in people checking in, in NSW to avoid any iso - I’m sure that is happening everywhere. People are completely over it.

Under the new UK rules (which came in today) they only recognise UK, EU and US vaccination programmes to avoid 10 day quarantine & the EU digital certificate doesn't connect to the Aust vaccine certificates. Is this going to be hurdle to travel in Nov/Dec?

So Singapore is continuing to increase the number of countries on the “7 day home quarantine” list, have reduced all other countries (that aren’t 7 day or no quarantine) to 10 days hotel quarantine (from 14) due to the rapid transmission of delta. They are also now only allowing work pass holders (foreign citizens who have visas to work in Singapore) to only come to or return to Singapore if fully vaccinated.

Although with projections of 5000 cases a day in the next week or two still think HQ may be a bit of overkill, like it is in Sydney and Melbourne.

Yes, the red list will be significantly reduced. Expected to drop to around 9 countries.

This takes effect from today, then later this month (day TBD) the Day 2 PCR test requirement will go and you'll be able to do a rapid test instead.

I don’t know. How many? Nothing compared with what I may acquire doing a grocery shop in Sydney or Melbourne I suspect.

There weren't huge numbers, but it showed that negative PCR tests aren't necessarily a guaranteed indicator everyone on the flight will be covid free. If I have choice down the track of having to pay $150 for a PCR test on one airline but not another, it could be a determining factor on which airline I choose (could add $1200 plus a huge inconvenience on a family of four travelling... especially if needing to get an airline mandated - but not country mandated - PCR for the return leg)

Nothing in the pandemic is perfect. Just like the vaccine. If we aim for perfect we will fail. If finances form part of that decision to PCR or not be required to PCR then I’d choose the airline that demanded the former.
