were you asked to repay a ‘debt’ to the ATO at the same time!!?I got that as an SMS.Didn't know AP had my number.
I got one of these fake scam calls too, but mine was just AP bragging about her Tokyo trip.were you asked to repay a ‘debt’ to the ATO at the same time!!?
It's a good start and should have been done months ago. She needs to name the date and be firm. Stop waffling on borders, commit to leaving them open no matter what. Build the tourist industry back up. I can't see overseas tourists waning to come here if there is nothing to do.Maybe there is hope QLD will open before Christmas based on this tweet tonight by Annastacia
"It takes five weeks to get fully vaccinated. In five weeks you won't be able to go to [Coffee shop, hotel, hairdresser etc] unless you have proof of vaccination. You have been warned."
I doubt we will be back at pre covid levels within 12 months.I have said previously probably not until 2025/6.$5,000 return: sky-high ticket prices hit Australians’ holiday hopes as airlines prepare for takeoff
Industry experts say it could ‘take a full year’ for international air travel to return to pre-Covid pandemic pricingwww.theguardian.com
I wonder what will happen to Business class as I can't really care less about the filthy seats in the back Many corporates are VERY reluctant to spend big bucks on travel again, now that we are all so happy to Zoom/Team/Hangout into our meetings.I doubt we will be back at pre covid levels within 12 months.I have said previously probably not until 2025/6.
I think they're afraid that the specifics of how it will all be managed aren't sorted in the end and then they sit on all the canceled bookings. My hunch is that as soon as the NSW/Fed government announces how it will all be handled exactly (how does overseas proof of vaccination handled, how exactly will self-quarantine work and be enforced and so on and on and on), then airlines will start offering tickets.I seriously wonder why the major carriers haven't opened bookings yet from November 1st into Sydney. These guys are already flying into Sydney in November (but with a very heavy passenger cap) and they can just open up the remaining 200 odd seats on each flight.
There is literally no downside in opening up bookings as even one extra passenger in the plane is extra revenue from the flight.
With the initial announcements mainly focussed on UK/US, then not surprising that it has been slow opening for carriers not hubbed in those locations. BA has not yet decided on bringing BA15/16 forward from the late March restart, and they will be gifting seats to QF until they do.I seriously wonder why the major carriers haven't opened bookings yet from November 1st into Sydney. That's mostly just the usual "Don't touch your face" stuff which will be a welcome excuse for airlines to save $$$ on their inflight catering once travel resumes. Not really answering the important questions that airlines will have.I just saw this 'fact sheet' uploaded to the federal Dept of Health site on Tue 12 Oct. It says it’s aimed at the aviation industry to enable preparation for restart of international travel. Well, prepare to be not very enlightened: a classic example of government advice that leaves the reader with more questions than she/he had before.
So Greenzone is international travel without quarantine?Interesting, but as Telemachus said: more question than before
Australian airports to be divided into red zones and green zones
Here’s another sign of how international travel will look very different once Australia’s borders reopen.www.executivetraveller.com
Not sure if related, but my JAL flight from Mel to NRT on 4 December just got cancelled. So Greenzone is international travel without quarantine?
I'm confused- hadn't they talked about "removing of all travel caps"? How's that going to work if there's still red zone flights which require quarantine? So Greenzone is international travel without quarantine?
I think Green Zones are a future unicorn.I'm confused- hadn't they talked about "removing of all travel caps"? How's that going to work if there's still red zone flights which require quarantine?
And- which countries will be declared "red zones"?

Hmm, I don't think that makes sense as it says that red zone travellers will need to "undertake mandatory quarantine in designated accommodation for 14 days from the day they entered". So that would be the current state, would it not be?I think Green Zones are a future unicorn.
I think all countries we return from will be from Red Zones.
That is correct. Heard on rumour mill NSW may come out tomorrow with announcement re: home quarantine to override that if vaccinated. I'm waiting on that and my Chief Minister in Darwin to provide his spin on home quarantine. If acceptable, Normandy in early Feb would be pretty good.Hmm, I don't think that makes sense as it says that red zone travellers will need to "undertake mandatory quarantine in designated accommodation for 14 days from the day they entered". Did it mention that you can take a connecting flight to a country area? My home town is a a 50 minute flight serviced by Qantas.I read somewhere but can’t recall where that for the NSW pilot you had to live within a 2 hour drive from the airport.
Can travel by private car or taxi/ hire car.
