Business class check in is not a benefit of WT+ though

Strange - I was sure it was - maybe they have a separate queue. I hadnt realised that OW status was making me so ignorant of travelling in economy

I have flown NZ 747 PE, after an upgrade. It was a good expereince but I think it could have been better. NZ seems to addressed most of the issues people have with the product except the failings with the seat, footrest useless for most people, seat is too narrow in particular on the 777.
Would I pay extra for the PE on NZ? At the time no but I may think about it again especially with the changes but NZ WHY in the 747 is an extremely good product.
Has anyone checked out the VS PE seats that are being installed now? Looks like the 1st generation business class seats.

One thing that is overlooked in the debate over whether Qantas should implement Premium Economy is the effect on FF rewards/upgrades.

If they implement it, perhaps they will block Economy-Business upgrades - or charge more points.

You may be required to buy a Premium Economy ticket to upgrade to Business.

There will also be less economy seats, so economy awards could become harder to get.

Dave is right - There is no seperate check in for WT+ pax. All WT & WT+ pax check in at the same counter.

Don't worry simongr, your marbles may well be intact. :) Definitely a separate WT+ checkin queue at MEL when I flew BA WT+ last year. I didn't use it (OLCI'ed and used fast bag drop), but it was there all right! Perhaps it is airport-dependent?

On NZ Airpoints an upgrade from economy to business is now a double upgrade requiring twice as many points/upgrade vouchers as before premium economy was introduced. I suspect this may be one reason why NZ has been so slow to adopt the *A-wide mileage upgrade scheme - it will highlight the expensive upgrade cost required by NZ.
