Priority boarding on QF domestic - what is the story?

Wouldn't that put it above the max FA/pax ratio? Sure it wasn't a 734?

And they were doing so well with the priority boarding...

No. Virgin had only 4 FAs for years - only since the introduction of J do they have 5 FAs in their 738s.

Definitely a 738. Row 4 on a 738 has much more legroom than on the 734!!

QF759 SYD-ADL 737-800. Worked wonderfully. Only one staff member doing the scanner. Heaps of people hanging back on the premium boarding lane and a big queue on the normal boarding lane. I walked to the front of the premium lane. Staff member stopped the normal lane and called me over. Premium boarding with one staff member only.

I'm not sure how many cabin crew were on board. I was more focussed on the sod next to me who had trouble working out the difference between his seat and my ribs.

I'll pass this on to the team for encouragement and ongoing consistency. :)

Do you ever pass on the bad stuff too? The team must have an unrealistic impression of how well they're doing if all you pass on are the compliments

Red Roo

just to clarify it was suggested that there had been a reduction of FA's on 737 service from 5 to 4 is this correct?

Of course. Feedback is always welcome. :)

However it's nice to have positive examples to share with our staff too.

Yes, this is a very recent change.

Ok so less FA's and smaller meals less choices whats going on? Seems all things are being enhanced at the moment.

How can Less FA's provide for better service delivery and customer confidence?

Red Roo off topic but notice no further comments on the ASA rumor from you.

Hi Ansett
im a domestic fa and as of 01May, 4 crew will operate on the 737-800 fleet for all "medium" services during AM/Lunch/PM refreshment services. Medium being your Mel/Bne Syd/Adl etc.
This will mean 1 fa boarding the entire flight
Please, and this goes for all reading, it would be great if you provide feedback as crew aren't thrilled with this either.
Remember, this only applies to medium length sectors

On the subject of premium boarding, we are also going to be trialling g a "self boarding" gate at Gate 2 Sydney T3
Will be interesting to see how this goes to say the least!

Really interested to see how self boarding will work... What if there is an issue with the BP? I have had a few problems sometimes for a variety of reasons...

Also, I am sure it has been stated before, CBR should be one of the airports where QF priority boarding is well, a priority for QF!!

Didn't you mean to say that this is a very recent 'enhancement'? :(

First self check-in, now self-boarding? What's next self-piloting? QF aren't really making flying any better for us... Reducing service on the Golden Triangle where a lot of high status pax fly is a pretty poor move.

I shall refer to it as the "Self Bloating" gate.

Wait...isn't the term "Self Loading Freight" meant to be a joke?

No point doing it in CBR.

As has been stated, half the aircraft will be eligible for it.
