Confirmed that HI Darling Harbour PC member drinks is every fortnight. Part of he reason I walk past any other hotels to stay here.

So, what's the chance of convincing the HI Old Sydney to do 'a deal' on drinks for the merry crew of AFF / PCR ( or whatever ) on NYE ??

( given there's going to be a good few of us 'lurking' around the premises ... )

You mean a " we got our accommodation for a steal now we would like to get the drinks for a steal as well" deal when there are a hundreds of thousands of thirsty revellers on their doorstep willing to pay above market prices for a drink??? I think I know the answer unless we can find a HSU credit card .

You're right - of course !!

I haven't ventured to The Rocks in Sydney for 25 years. Not since I used to volunteer with St. John Ambulance - turning unconscious drunkards onto their side in the gutters ( to maintain an open airway etc. )

It is probably just as crazy in recent years ...

Does everyone who booked the Old HI using the "steal" intend to still go??

I still have my booking for 30/12 to 2/1 to use, but not sure yet if I will cut my Fijian trip short to go!!

I still intend to go.

Was there a count on how many AFF'ers were going in the end?

What's the impression, from experienced 'stayers' at HI OS, regarding an upgrade on this type of Reward offer ??

If IHG Plat., will the Member get an upgrade on their room ? What if you booked 3 - 4 rooms ( family / friends ), any chance of all rooms being upgraded ?

What's the likely upgrade scenario anyway ? ( type of room, or gift-type package etc. )

Any news of a HI Melbourne event? Or at properties in Asia, especially HKG and Shanghai?
