As some of you know, you can get 50PC points a day through topguest, when you check into PC properties using software such as Four Square, or places in Facebook. Well, after some help from topguest support, I've now got this working for the Holiday Inn on Flinders and Crowne Plaza Melbourne. So 50 Priority Club points a day for a check-in, and since I work next door to the Crowne Plaza, its pretty easy for me.

So what do you need:
1) A device such as an Iphone, or Android phone, or a tab, or something that can provide geolocation information (so, Firefox with a geolocator add-in also works!)
2) An account with a supported service (FourSquare or Facebook, for example)
3) A topguest account linked to the account in part 2.

So when you nip down to the Crowne Plaza for a coffee, say, you can just do a FourSquare check-in and topguest will give you 50 PC points a day for doing so!

There are other loyalty schemes supported, although I haven't had much luck finding a Doubletree around Melbourne!

Interesting, I have signed up for a look. So what exactly do I have to do when I get to a Holiday Inn?

I just do a Foursquare check-in. Usually an hour or so later, the 50PC points are in my Topguest account.

I think I have worked out how to do it on facebook (via touch.facebook.com). Foursquare confuses me.

There is something about social networking sites that I just don't get. Twitter I can understand, but eveything else seems to be a PITA to do anything.

Steve,

You and me both with the confusion.

I don't do twit or fb so it's the others or nothing for me. I have registered but that's about the limit of my understanding.

It was certainly a voyage of discovery for me as well.

I had never heard of this...

I live close to a HI Surfers Paradise, so I'll remember to checkin to it. Not to mention all the IHG hotels when I make my weekly journey to SYD. I just hope all my Facebook friends can stand seeing all the check-ins.

A minute ago I was browsing AFF and somehow jumped to another dimension.

I have signed out so will see how it goes.. Got a Crowne plaza stay next week.. should I stop at the HI at MEL on Monday morning?? ;)

I only got the 50 points once for three days. Not worth the effort.

I had trouble with posting when I first started, but got it sorted out by emailing them with details of how I had cheeck-in, and they sorted it out for me.

This seems to work for me but only for HI so far, not crowne plaza, and also only one property per day. I signed in to Topguest using my Facebook login. So easy and I'm pretty happy but not sure now if I should contact support about getting multiple check ins per day to credit.

They don't - only one a day.

Well, I'm slightly perplexed. I'm sort of getting points from check ins but they have stopped transferring to PC. Got 200 points in Topguest that are still sitting there. Might have to contact them, as the kings cross HI isn't getting me any points.

I find the postings across to PC to be a bit, umm, random! Last transfer was May 3.

Best off contacting them, they backdated some of mine for me when they hadn't been coming across.

My 200 points from HI Potts Point have transferred - 50 within a couple of days and the remaining 150 two weeks later.

Ah thanks! I've been checking in at HI Kings Cross. Will try Potts Point today.
