Proposed new ANZ Adventures credit cards

Anyone know whether transfer from existing rewards black to this adventure card will have any impact to my credit score?

Please report back how you go requesting this change. It didn't appear this product transfer was supported in the ANZ systems as yet. It isn't in the online banking and phone staff hadn't done one before (and didn't immediately appear as an option for them). I ran out of time speaking to them about it and decided I'd give it another go later this month.

ANZ are launching a marketing campaign and an internal awareness initiative on Monday 18th so give it a try then.

Had mine changed from Rewards classic to this new Adventures card yesterday. Went into a branch and the bank manager processed the change. He did mention that as it was a very new product, he was not well versed with it so he ended up ringing the credit team / call center anyways for questions. Looks like a smooth transition so far - we will see!

Were you charged an annual fee with the transfer? I am thinking of swapping my ANZ Black to this once I get my bonus points, wait till a 15% transfer bonus offer and send them over to Velocity.

Are both rewards black & adventures the same points currency (ANZ Rewards)? In which case might not need to delay as should still be eligible for any points bonus?

The new annual fee applies - but I get a rebate on the annual fee I've already paid for the rewards classic card. That was the best offer they could give me at that point.

Do you have go spend $500 each year on the card to get free flights?, also flights have to be booked 60 days before hand so I guess if the card is approved next week I had to wait 60 days after every year around this time to be able to fly?

On Friday, I inquired about switching from my existing Rewards Black card to Travel Adventures (slightly lower annual fee after the compulsory "rewards" fee and "free" flight), was told free flight only available to new customers and I wouldn't be entitled to it in the first or subsequent years if I switched products. I think I've been misinformed but thought I'd check to see whether other AFF members have been able to migrate and have full benefit on qualifying spend? I'm otherwise not likely to spend much on this card (no FX fee is appealing though) and just don't want to close my ANZ CC down totally at this stage.

Only in the first year are you required to spend $500 (with 3 months).

I'd say you'd been misinformed. The flight is not a promotional deal, it's a core feature of the card.

Thanks very much thegeekinasuit. I might call them back during the week during business hours to do the switch then. Surprised as I'd gotten through to an Aussie call centre - guess that doesn't guarantee the right information in any event.

Yep it doesn't mention that anywhere on the ANZ website and I recall someone else on the forum mentioned that they switched.

I'd say the agent unfortunately gave you the wrong info... which can happen when they aren't familiar with the new products.

I switched to Travel Adventures. The product knowledge of the staff both at the call centre and my local ANZ branch leave a lot to be desired. The staff at the branch, despite being surrounded by all the in-store advertisements for this card, hadn't heard of it. They didn't even know the basic reward for this card, free return flight, no international transaction fees. And worst of all, they didn't know how to activate the cards.

While I understand this is a new product, I would be concerned if I was in head office.

Not sure if this is a silly question, but is there anything stopping you using the card in AUS?
I have the AMEX Velocity Platinum and am looking for a VA FF Visa, and with an upcoming OS holiday at the end of the year this could work well to continue using it after the holiday

Nothing stopping you! It just has some special benefits when used for overseas purchases and/or when travelling overseas.

Definitely call them back. The bank manager who did my switch rang up the credit card department twice to double check that the flight would still be available through an internal switching of cards (vs. being a new card customer) and they confirmed both times that yes, the flight would be available.

They'll probably request that you perform the product change online via internet banking - that's what they asked me to do.
very easy to do - click on your current credit card, then 'Change your credit card type' and then select this product. Mine was processed within a couple of days.
