As the primary card holder of this card, am I able to book the free return flight for another family member, or do I have to take the flight myself?

And it is best booked a long way in advance as it is a restrictive class.

I booked CBR - ADL 6 months in advance and they said there were only 3 seats left of the appropriate class.

My partner booked MEL-PER return about 61 days in advance with no problem - for flights in two weeks. Flights were not at the lowest price level either.

Does anyone have thoughts re the qantas Amex ultimate card. Currently offering 100,000 points to sign up.

Provided you use the $450 travel credit wisely (you have to spend it all in one go), it seems like a good card to me; both +1 and I have this card and all good so far.

The free flight can’t be booked via the account section? You need to call? And no way of finding availability for the booking award via the virgin website?

Correct. You book on the phone through Pinpoint Travel, who will tell you availability and I believe can only book you on to the cheapest fares (if they're still available). It's a bit annoying but both times I've booked I've got the dates I wanted.

From what they told me T fare class needs to be available.

Has anyone tried applying for this card within the 12 months 'blackout' period and managed to still receive their bonus signup points?

I'm trying to determine if this is a real rule, or just a blerb in the T&Cs to deter card churning.

I made my $500 worth of purchases and have just ordered my lounge passes. How long does it take for the 40,000 Velocity points to be credited once spend minimum has been met?

Did ANZ contact you for your Velocity details, after minimum spend had been met?

I contacted them after I made the minimum spend and they said they didn't need my number as they match up my name on the Velocity system. They said they would add the Velocity number to the system just the same.

Made the minimum spend on the 15th February and have received a statement for the period but still no points received. It has been less than 30 days so Ill give it to the 15th of this month and then ring up to chase it up.

Yes it is a real rule.

I have not personally experienced its enforcement, but many on this forum has reported that ANZ rigidly enforce this rule of all of their points earning cards. So if the fine print stest you will not earn it, you will not.

Any update? Hope you got the points, have just had my first statement, and hope I don’t have to chase them up.

Points showed up a week after receiving the email seeking Velocity membership details. Total timeframe from receiving the card to points less than a month.

Yes received the points after another phone call. All good. Going to keep the card for the 12 months since I have already incurred the yearly fee and I like the features on the Card, and then I will cancel unless they waive the next yearly fee.
