Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

I think the danger of taking public transit be it in Sydney or elsewhere in Australia is overblown. I’d encourage anyone to try taking the bus from Detroit airport to downtown or the London Underground for that matter.

Or perhaps the NY subway where you might get burnt to death by some vagrant.

The London underground is perfectly safe. If you think otherwise, please provide your evidence.
