Pursuing pingu the penguin

Looks pretty rough to me, but I guess it’s not too bad compared to other videos and photos I have seen of the Drake passage.
One thing to tell is that the camera and focus seem very stable so no rockin and rollin. The horizon stays straight. So no pitching or yawing. And the cabin seems quite low in the sea so lots of spray. Looks like fun. When things start rolling around the cabin and sliding off the desk that’s a bit more challenging.

I read one report on trip advisor where he was thrown out of the bed three times crossing the Drake :(. I have been scaring myself for months reading them. Ltl should be good - she doesn’t get sea sick.

Yeah. That’s what I’m talking about.

When mum and dad were on a Princess cruise in the Pacific they came across an unexpected cyclone. Stories of people being strapped into bed for their own safety. It was funny. They were heading towards it in the evening and when they woke up Dad, who served 12 years on an aircraft carrier in the Navy said they’d changed directions. Mum told him not to be so silly. Within the hour the Captain announced they’d changed directions -180 degrees, to out run the cyclone. Mum and Dad loved it but people were ill everywhere. No wonder I don’t get seasick.

We had a rough couple of days when we went to Antarctica - we were on the top deck and we had waves breaking over us :D they strapped us into bed as well. There were three people at breakfast the next morning - Ron and I were two of the 3 :D:D:D
Neither of us get seasick :)

Jane & Duncan are travel bloggers, I am guessing their cruise is free or very little cost (outside their budget of travelling the world on an Australian Pension) hence the lower floor cabin.

Haha. I would have been a solo for breakfast. I told MrP in slight hope of what LTL and her husband are doing. He turned green at the thought. I’m planning on a transatlantic on QM2, he doesn’t understand why I wouldn’t fly.

The thing is there are always places to escape to. I’ve no idea why anyone would think this a good idea. Well, alcohol maybe. But if you look around there aren’t many participating. There is probably 200 onboard and maybe 20 people here?
