You generally get double base points, so it would be triple as a net result.
Nope. 3x points. Each double points offer is a bonus line based on base points.
Got it. Good to know if I ever book a 2X package.

I can't see that I ever would - HH must value their points pretty highly given the $ price increment to get the x2 package ... myself 0.5c/p is about as generous as I can get with HH points.
I can't see that I ever would.
I'm with you on that score, but I have got recent redemptions which value a HH point at 0.7c.

I've just made a 5 night redemption booking at a DT that will return at least 3 cents per point.
Does that factor in the 5th night free?
https://hiltonhhonors.com/HH2_2014?lang=US The new promotion is out for stays May 1 -July 31 2014. Sadly it's of limited use for those staying in Australia through the period with Perth, Sydney and Melbourne South Wharf opting out.
I wonder if the hotel just doesn't need to participate i.e they have high occupancy and therefore feel they are 'paying' for rooms that will be booked anyway. Especially with Perth where accommodation is very tight as it is.

Easily @ 3½¢ per Velocity Point. (94K + $95 = 1 way VA Business transpacific)....
Out of interest, do you value 346 VA points at more than 1731 HH points? at 2.5c vs 0.5c you would be about equal, I guess.
Has any had experience with crediting of this?
I do points, but last promo with Virgin didn't work properly either, and the issue was on the VA side of things. Took many months, emails and then multiple PMs to VA AFF rep to fix.
