I just received an email from Qantas to say that I was in the top 5% of all Qantas points earners because I earnt 227,000 points. I would have thought that I would be a lot lower down than that

When you consider anyone with a QFF account, which is what, 13 million+ nowadays? I don't think it's that far-fetched. The vast majority of people a) don't fly very often, and b) don't really keep track of these things. Anyone Silver and up is going to be a "top earner" compared to the average.

It says I was in the 1% with 760k points. The flights stats are only QF metal (not including QF codeshare).

I got the top 5% too, for just 208,000 points. There wasn't much flying this year, as you can see by the DASH 8 being my top 'pick' of aircraft

I made the top 5% with just 184K points...almost all from flying, 15 flights and 56731km...

Just to clarify I took 1 economy flight from ADL MEL one reward flight from SYD to ADL so it wasn't flying. It was all cards and shopping

Agree when you see the number of people posting about expiring points due to inactivity, it’s a real shock. It’s almost impossible to not earn Qantas points by just breathing
