Sincere apologies if I have missed this - but I know from the first post that the Jetconnect 737s didn't seem to be part of the refurb - is that still the case?

The only announced the 67 VH registered planes.

Query if they need the extra galley space for the NZ flights, and/or if they are thinking something else. Certainly versus the ME airlines QFs J product is wanting

Thanks. While I like the Jetconnect J flights, a basic refurb would still be well short of competing with the ME airlines. The A330s on the other hand would be attractive - if demand is there.

The refurb would diminish the TT product IMO, smaller lavatories and an extra row isn't necessarily a good thing or an improvement.

I agree - I'm not sold on the refurbs yet (but haven't flown too many to be honest). Some of the J seats on the NZ flights are broken / faulty and very tired -- some refresh here would not go astray.

I wonder whether the 737 floor could support a SkyBed suite. Obviously same spares will get pulled out of EBG/EBL shortly, although query the width as well..

Anyhow another mystery - obviously something will be done..

A bunch of weird and wonderful rumours of on Pprune including all planes and pilots moving back to Aus regos, and Jetconnect subleasing a VH plane so it's aircraft can get a refurb

Wouldn't the certification process of getting the skybed on the 737 make it unviable anyway?

Potentially.
Other option would be the slightly angled 2x2 configuration that Qatar uses in its A320 First and American in its A321 Business which might be certified for the 737 as well.
Either way it would undoubtedly come with the loss of some economy rows.

But its all guesses till QF makes an announcement.

I was on VXM last night and it was looking very tired indeed, definitely in need of the refresh!

There was previously a decision to sell 2 x 737-800. Wonder if that means 2 will remain unrefurbished.

The only reference I can see to that is from Aug 2014 to be completed by FY15 so I think it has been cancelled - they did return the two A330s. The 67 was mentioned by QF in releases (albeit this was a month earlier).

VH-XZE which is a relatively new aircraft (BSI and only 3yo) hasn't flown since arriving in BNE on 9/5 so unsure what is going on there
