Does anyone know if the new A330 business suites has commenced on the QF SYD-SIN yet? Their website doesn't seem to say when it will occur except that it will be in Jan 2015.

Looks like the SIN-SYD flights will have the upgrade on Saturday 17th - Qantas: Singapore flights get new Business Suite business class - Australian Business Traveller

Not sure about the "The same aircraft will alternate between the Sydney-Singapore and Melbourne-Singapore routes every two days until more refitted A330-300s join the Qantas International fleet in the coming months." Bit of a lottery (or careful planning) then to get on the right plane, particularly when the existing business class is not really worth blowing 40K worth of points on.

I am flying BNE-SIN the first week of Aug this year on QF0051. Anyone know if this leg has the new product yet, it's a minefield trying to get confirmation!

Thanks!

At present the first aircraft is doing SYD/MEL-SIN (QF35/36/81/82) alternately
A second aircraft could make that daily.
A third aircraft is likely to be used for QF5/6

A fourth aircraft (which should be ready for Aug) might be used on BNE-SIN, or alternately it might be used on SYD/MEL-HKG/HND

Qantas has not confirmed an exact rollout schedule

Thank you for this, would be nice to try the new product, but I do quite like the Skybeds, so no problems. Do you know how I find out if they will be Mk 1 or 2 on the plane I will be on QF51? BNE to SIN?
Thank you!

Forgot about that, oh well, even a slope is better than whY, hopefully QF will rush through the refurbs and we can try out the new suite.

Thanks for the help!

Just booked on QF36 SIN-MEL 18/3 and QF35 MEL-SIN 12/4 and both have the new seat, as did QF81 on 12/4. Looking forward to comparing and contrasting with CX J. Not looking forward so much to connections from/to DEL on 9W.

Will be nice to see these on BNE-SIN flights

Whoa! AC change on QF36 and the old 2-2-2 seats are back:shock:. My suspicious mind wonders if it's because they have filled 27 J seats on this flight and would only have 1 J seat available if they had kept the new configuration, instead of 3 at the moment. Not entirely happy Jan.

Cheers skip.

I'm doing a HKG-MEL end of May and will spend the 40k points to upgrade to J. Always beats Y!

Or the fact that by the time those flights come around there may only be 2 out of the 10 333's with the new product.

Nothing like a good conspiracy hey!

Same has happened to me for QF36 tomorrow (which is still showing J9 C9 D9 I9)! Looking at the seat map. all the window seats are taken: I think there will be some unhappy campers when they turn up to the airport!

Ditto for me. QF36 in mid July. :(
We have as a consequence abandoned the window and moved to a centre pair. Maybe it will change back (said with high hopes, low expectations).

I looked on the Qantas source at what QF 333 aircraft were operating, and it appears that QPB and QPC haven't returned to service yet. Looks like QPA is still the only AC with the new configuration at the moment.

Cheers skip

Need to go to Hong Kong in April.
Normally from Syd or Melb, but may be positioned to leave form Brisbane.

Does the the Brisbane to Hong Kong flights have the new configuration?

TQ

Out of interest does anyone else find the fact that QF has applied the name 'suite' to these new seats, when typically it is reserved for 'enclosed' F seating/bedding with doors and stuff, a little OTT. They don't even refer to their own F seats on the A380 as suites (or at least i don't think they do).

I'm not sure about what they QF themselves refer to their F seats as but the set up is commonly known as "open suites" just like CX F
