Qantas A380 F on sale on SYD-LAX from 27/3/22

Qantas has now added the A380 back to the schedule on QF11/12 between SYD & LAX. A380 flights are available to book from 1 July 2022 and First Class is being sold.

I couldn't find any F award availability (no surprises there). A First Saver fare costs $14,873 return for SYD-LAX.

Actually, I am seeing some F availability now, looking 11-12 months out.

Looks like SYD-LAX has F availability on Tuesdays & Thursdays. LAX-SYD has F availability on Sundays & Tuesdays.

I remember saying I wouldn’t bother with QF F again after my last trip to the US. Just didn’t feel like it was much of a step up from J and obviously other carriers have much better F offerings. But after 2 years of not being able to go anywhere I’m feeling a bit nostalgic and thinking that when I finalise plans for august next year and book to LAX I might just try to relive the experience.

I was able to successfully request an F points seat on the inaugural 1 July SYD-LAX A380 the day the flight was loaded into the system a couple of months ago ;-)

I booked 2 F award seats earlier this week for the QF11 flight on Tues 13 Sept 2022 and there has already been an aircraft change to a B787! I only found this out as Qantas emailed this morning to advise that the return flight from LAX on 4 Oct had changed - a 10 minute later departure but it’s still an A380

I had 2 return F Awards SYD-LAX-SYD for July 2022 on the A380, booked last week on release. Both now changed to B787….
