Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

Agree 100%! When it suits Qf, it is the national carrier....if I were in charge of Va, I would be calling Qf out on this point!

Agree, and QFi/JQi together only carry about 33 per cent of international flight users in and out of Oz. Maybe the figure for Oz citizens is higher, and that for foreigners lower, but highly doubtful that either is 50.0001 per cent.

In at least one recent month, amazingly SQ carried more passengers than QFi.

Interesting that earlier in the thread we were thinking no more status extensions. I'm not sure there should be any more, as flying anywhere in the world is more or less back to normal and there are few Covid-related restrictions. Or maybe I'm just peeved because I have paid for my flights during the last two years and renewed status by myself. 😂

EDIT: As I have already qualified to end of February 2023, the announced "extensions" are not relevant anyway. I really doubt that there will be extensions after the end of this year.

Flying is not altogether ‘back to normal’ - far from it I would say and not as routine a process as it once was.

A DSC is not far away
If it happened, I probably wouldn't bite. I bit last time and bought tickets, now read the status extension announcement sans anything about rollover, and feeling like I have been taken down. At face value I am reading if I took no flights this year, or maybe one flight, I would get another year's extension anyway, but no word about rollover of the paid for SCs. Hopefully that will happen.

Oh and wow a $50 credit. Let me guess - I need to make another booking to use it. On top of the several bookings I need to make to use up my $,000s in existing TPs. What a bloody joke.

And just adding to the chorus, AJ would actually make a difference if he
  • fixed the call centre
  • fixed ticketing
  • fixed the website
cheers skip

Watching - I already have SC earning bookings to requalify in conjunction with the 500 SC WP rollover after my Oct 31 expiry.

I'm also not sure what to think about another status extension, having retained Platinum this year through flying (and the head-start of last year's rollover / SC boost).

If I knew in advance that it was going to be extended again for another year, I would have credited all the last 2 year's flights to BAEC instead!

As a bronze member, I get the $50 voucher which I will not use.

What I would like is an acknowledgement that they put me (and others) through the mill when I lost my OWA ticketed booking because they did not reticket my booking when QR changed a flight. That this was a mistake - their mistake - not just business as usual.

I would also like them to restore QR and MH award flights to the forward schedule.

I've just noticed on ExpertFlyer that some international flights (or many?) are showing some interesting availability now, not sure if this is related what AJ said about opening more awards seats.
