Anyone else notice the new look of the Qantas app?
I deleted the app and reinstalled it and got a newer look. I must say I like it and it seems to lag less, when viewing trips.

I've just updated the app, looks good - heaps faster then the old app! Hopefully it removes the bug when the flight gets delayed and the mobile BP disappears (seems to be only impacting those who use a corporate TA, but causes pandemonium on the MEL-SYD shuttle)

It does seem like an improvement.

It would be good if they could add the ability to self-service rebooking etc. during IRROPS.

While they’re at it, it might also be helpful if they stopped giving people the option to upgrade on flights that you really can’t upgrade through Qantas.

(E.g. these flights are on a partner airline and in the highest available cabin anyway, so the "Request an upgrade" feature is useless and will confuse some people.)

Is that screenshot in your post current? As it looks like your app hasn't updated yet (try force closing and re-opening it).

Either way, the superfluous upgrade option for codeshares is still there post redesign anyways.

Oh, you're right. As you say though, the "Request upgrade" button is still there.

is there a reason why you need to do this? Why wouldn’t it come through as a update or new version through the App Store?

The new version didn't automatically come through when I updated my App (on iPhone) either.

Some android have it. I think it's got to do with the Google Play store and how they roll it out.

On both Android and Apple, developers have the option to set what percentage of users will be offered the new version. This is done so that if there is a major issue, it's not going to impact all users at once. Consider it a gradual rollout.

If you install an app from new, it will be the latest version.

Ah. A soft launch.

Are the developers of this app less confident than most that there won’t be major bugs in the new release?

It wasn’t in my list of app updates on the phone and since I’d read in another thread that this hack worked I tried it.

Interestingly, on my iPad I went into the App Store and searched for the QF app and it said there was an “Update” available. I downloaded the update but it was still the same. Swiped it away and reopened to the new version.
