Yes, Was a targeted email offer through Qantas FF email on March 31st before they launched April 1st.
Looking at the website the current sign on offer is double QFF points for life of policy.

Got an email today offering me up to 100k points for signing on + 1pt/$ and 15K from walking, did the maths works out about $20 more than my current/week (for better cover than I have) and would have to sign up for 90 days minimum to get points, so providing I am eligible for 100k points would be roughly $250 for 120k points so 2c/point. Tempted......

That's 0.2c per point, is it not? 120,000 x 2c would be 240,000c, which is $2,400.

I'm just doing the same calculations and thinking it's virtually a no brainer, or am I missing something?

Just read the fine print - 100k sign up bonus is only if you take out Top Hospital and Top Extras. And the 15k for walking "is the maximum number of Qantas Points that can be earned each year through the App by each Qantas Frequent Flyer member (aged 13 or over) who is covered under Advanced or Top Hospital Cover. Each Qantas Assure health insurance policy has a specific maximum number of Qantas Points that can be earned each year through the App. To earn the maximum 15,000 Qantas Points, you must participate in the highest daily and weekly challenges available through the App and win every weekly group challenge". On the plus side, it's per person aged 13+, so you might actually get more than 15,000, but my guess is that the actual number you will get per person within 3 months will be a small fraction of that. So for me, over a 3 month period I think a realistic points haul would be more like 75k, and that would cost me about $300 more than what I'm paying now. Still seems worth it though.

Yeah sorry I meant 0.2c/point. Seems like a good deal I have close to top hospital/extras in another policy hence the small change, it would be lower if I kept at same level, but considering raising level for the extra points as it adds up....

Ok, cheers. Personally I think the price of the insurance itself is outrageously expensive. However, I'm looking at this a simple points purchasing transaction, and it looks like a good deal indeed from that perspective.

Is the majority of those 100000 points going to be for the premiums? Can't expect you'd earn much in 3 months.

I am a member. I switched from Medibank and actually increased my cover for less than what Medibank wanted, although I've heard it isn't the same for everyone.

So far (including sign-on bonuses) I've earned over 10k points and pick up at least 5 points a day... every week I get another 50 or so from a weekly task and I participate in group challenges every few days with a variety of members here (anyone can use the app - but you can't get the points if you're not a member of the program).

As a family, we attended a childrens event on the weekend called 'Kidtopia' and Qantas Assure were the main sponsors. I was happy to get my free picnic rug and sunnies from their stand
This was my very first exposure to Qantas Assure. We chatted in depth to the rep about this program and then investigated further when we got home. We decided to switch our policies across but it was only when we called up to do it today that we discovered it's connection to NIB (our current insurer).
So if we do switch (which they will let us do), we don't get the 80K of points or the Apple Watch. We will get the monthly points though.
This seems odd to me. Why not honour the advertised promotion esp as the connection to NIB was not mentioned on any of our communication touch points with Qantas Assure.
Has anyone argued this point and won?

The points earn for exercise is tiny, but if you're walking a lot, then maybe worthwhile grabbing a few freebies.
That said, if you're at your desk, put on your headphones, your phone in your sock and tap your feet. It's amazing how many steps you take

Also, there is a 100km/week cycling challenge for 100 points. I did it over a few days without breaking a sweat. How? I selected a cycling activity in Google Fit every time i got in my car this week. My average "cycling" speed has been between 30-45km/h. :mrgreen:

Hi all

We joined Qantas Assure in early October based on their 100,000 points promotion (for the hideously expensive top hospital and extras cover for families). Among the T&Cs was a requirement to remain insured for three months, which ticked over last week.

I didn't take a copy of the T&Cs at the time. Does anyone have any idea how long Assure gives themselves to credit the points? If anyone has a copy of the T&Cs they could post, that would also be a huge help.

I'm with NIB now. I'll switch to another provider then sign up for Qantas Assure so as to qualify for the double sign up bonus. Hopefully I can do this before the bonus offer expires in early April.

I am looking at switching from Australian Unity to QANTAS/NIB plan. For my wife and I this looks pretty appealing. Using Advanced hospital (way past pregnancies! )and top extras it works out at about $18 a month less than our current cover. Paying at least a quarter before April 1 in advance provides another savng which we have been advised we cannot to with AU. Then there are the points - 80k before the payments start.

Any flaw in my logic? I can't compare it with the normal NIB cover without giving them too much info.

Anyway, I do have a question and it relates to the Wellness Program. I am darned if I can figure out what 'Locked Points' are. Can you assist?

We switched from Medibank Private to Assure last year - my god what a nightmare they - I will be talking to Medibank Private again on Monday re switching back - obviously YMMV.
