Shud have spelt out why the "arrogance"...to think after the full time hooter has gone and the ref has left the field you can sneek out and kick the winner and ask it to count defies description
I think APA showed their arrogance clearly from the start of the takeover bid.

But then, you'd need a bit of arrogance to takeover an icon like Qantas:)

Maybe the umpire didn't hear the siren. Oh, oops, wrong game.
True different game but even the AFL got it right last year in LST...eventually

As a punter, I'll put some prices on possible events.

M.JACKSON
$1.20 - Resign before AGM
$2.10 - Dumped by shareholders
$4.50 - Continue in position.

APA
$1.50 - Matter goes to high court and gets thrown out
$40 - Matter goes to high court and passes
$50 - APA bid is canned - return within 6 months with new offer

Any other markets?

Multi-Bet available :) :)

Its all over the news now that the Take-overs Panel has rejected APA's appeal.
But APA are still not happy with this ruling and will take this to the federal court.
This is becoming a circus.

Why don't they just give up ????

I would love to see Dixon out, how can he show his face now, he should be so embarrased.

Put James Strong back in the big seat, he was very good.

If they come back in 6 months time ? do you think the banks will give them the loan for a much, much more higer price ?

More important this has cost APA a fortune, will they risk that again ?
I think they have lost the faith of most people.

Becoming a circus?? I thought it was already there. I am sure APA has backup plans to the backup plans, and could drag this out for a while.

And the pilots are happy its over, but are expecting another bid, which may or may not come from APA

They were probably out celebrating the news that APA's bid is finally DEAD.

They must have been celebrating pretty much every Sunday night in Brisbane and every Friday night in Melbourne for the last six months!!

With the celebrations and cheering that the APA bid is dead (death subject to interpretation and further investigation - this is not an ex-Parrot yet ;)) I am wondering what people think is going to be so much better about QF now - jobs will continue to be outsourced, JQ will continue to takeover regional and mainline routes, focus will remain on the top tier (J/F that is) passengers, the "price" of awards will continue to rise - adn this is all due to the lack of competition locally for a "premium" airline.

All that has happened now is that a whole bunch of bankers and lawyers have made some money, some people will have crystalised a gain on the share price and whatever plans QF had have been on hold for six months - potentially affecting effectiveness of operations.

Whether or not you agree with the principles of the deal it would have been better for it to go ahead and go ahead quickly rather than stagnating the business.

Ah well - lets wait and see what the next twist will be - hmm I wonder if BA have a few billion lieing aroud to play with ;)

APA have posted a notice to the ASX - they are considering a number of alternatives, including a renewed offer at $5.45
