Would love just to do a domestic leg. Always a carrier that has intrigued me and product looks pretty darn good!I wonder if these Finnair aircraft can be subbed onto other routes other than SIN and BKK
Right - so that's 2x FAQs that are incorrect - unless they specifically only codeshare on QF1/2 and not the AY operated flights.
Maybe not, just looking at November that the codeshare associated with QF81 is zeroed out (as QF81 itself), no codeshare with with the new QF291 yet anyway, even though exactly same time. Otherwise what would the codeshare be, instead of AY (operated by QF), would it be AY (pretending to be QF flight, operated by AY),
Perhaps QF26 is moving to being day flight instead? So QF25 arrives in the morning then QF26 leaves in the morning. Would make more sense from a naming pov that 25 lands then 26 leaves soon after 59lands at night then 60 leaves.Flights to Singapore and Tokyo from Sydney at least are available to purchase. The new QF59 will depart at 12.20pm and arrive 20.15 local time before QF60 leaves at 22.00 (the exact same time as QF26).
Bit disappointing that Qantas didn't use the opportunity to run a day flight from Haneda to Sydney instead of leaving QF25/26 parked all day.
I can see QF291 operating on 30th October which appears to be the first date and they are selling PE on it.
Hard to say without knowing the agreement. Perhaps they have extra rotation in crews in Sydney. Perhaps they will be trained to fly QF a330 metal that may operationally be put in to cover an issue. From late March 2024 if Finnair pilots are operating all SYD-BKK-SYD flights, does this mean cancellations when one plane runs badly late, due to insufficient properly rested pilots available for the next flight in the opposite direction?
(I am assuming only Finnair flight crew operate the two wet-leased planes,).
It may not be greatly dissimilar from the QF1/2/9/10 situation: two different aircraft types (A388s and B789s) and hence if the '1' runs late, the next 1' may also, complicated further by how cabin crew are from London but flight crew are from Oz.

Purely from a selfish POV but we need that A330 in our fleet ASAP. Some of us are relying on the bonusesQantas pilots aren’t happy. The Oz on line

Do they have a point re the A330 conversion and lack of fleet planning?
I'd imagine that changing existing flights might be a bit more difficult than adding the new ones in given you'd have to move all the passengers etc.
Doubt they would. Likely send people to the JAL lounge, which is fairly nice anyways!NRT lounge will join HKG in reopening?
