Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

It appears the AY-operated SIN route has been pulled most days in March and replaced by a mix of A330s and A380s operating as QF81/82. There is still a weekly QF291 in the booking engine running on Thursday afternoons at 14.30 (presumably to get an aircraft to SIN for maintenance). I'm not sure if this was planned in advance, but the BKK flights are still running.

Goes back to normal in April so I wonder if the AY pilots' industrial action is having an impact on the wet lease operations here.

Something seems to be going on with the AY flights. These are QF291:

Is it the same on 292 or the BKK flights?
Could be continuing issues with the AY pilot union contract negotiations.

I’m flying on 19/4 and haven’t seen any changes come through at this stage. I do note a search of SYD-SIN flights for that date shows no options out of SYD, and no QF292 coming back the same night 🤔

SYD-SIN-SYD seems to be all 0s each way on the dates I quoted, except days the QF81/82 replaces QF291/292.

SYD-BKK-SYD are not all 0s, with 19/4 for example showing
QF295 J4 C0 D0 I0 U0 W1 R0 T0 Z0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0 G0 X0 E0
QF296 J9 C9 D4 I0 U0 W9 R9 T0 Z0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V0 S9 N9 Q0 O0 G0 X0 E0

Edit: I am booked SYD-SIN on QF291 in late April, and received a re-timing email (5mins) and new e-ticket in last 2 days, but flight zeroed in EF.

General searches for QF shows only options for SYD-SIN being via MEL on our April travel date.

Changes coming through now 😔 QF291 for the 19th April cancelled. I was originally routing from MEL-SYD-SIN.

The proposed changed flights are now MEL-SYD and then back to MEL for QF37. . .

It looks like for the month of April (with the exception of 3 April), there will only be a QF291 SYD-SIN operating on Thursdays, with the return QF292 SIN-SYD operating on Fridays presumably to get an aircraft to SIN for maintenance.

Schedules have not been updated for later in April but I won't be surprised to see the same pattern given most of the flights have also been zero-ed out.

I'll take the conspiracy theory option - Avios run Finnair being instructed by IAG - whos' biggest shareholder is QR to not help QF.

*I'll get me coat.

50 mins on the phone later, new flights sorted.

Couldn’t get them to budge on adjusting a my connecting SIN-KUL sector to from QF/3K to MH as “rebooking with another carrier” would make the change no longer involuntary. So now I have a one hour connection and mad dash from T1 to T4.

Good luck, surprised that’s a legal connection, hope you don’t have checked bags?

Qantas Twitter seems to have greater powers and have identified this as not meeting the 1.5 hour MCT at Changi and have rebooked me on MH. A few DMs and all sorted :)
Surprising the call center would force 3K. Didn't they realise a terminal change was needed?
