Breakfast BNE-PER 2FEB18

Breakky was a bit ordinary... cookie was nice though.

I'm always cautious about making comment because even the smallest thing multiplied over a year for an airline makes a big amount. But it just looks like it needs something more. Looks tasty enough, but also sad and depressed!

QF501 BNE-SYD 5/2 5am departure

Water or apple juice
Cheese omelette with bacon or museli

QF924 SYD-CNS 5/2 8:10am departure

Water or apple juice
Egg white spinach omelette or fruit and yoghurt
Served individually (like virgin) rather than from the cart

Offered a milk choc chip cookie with drink on descent.

(Was on the 9:35am "lunch" flight to Cairns but flew forward, though I couldn't eat another omelette so opted for the fruit and yoghurt)

Ahah! I think I detect a pattern to the PDB saga!

With the above, and my weekend morning flights, it was water or juice (in my case, 2 flights < 10a were water or cranberry)
Afternoons seem to be water or sparkling water. Bizarre but maybe it's a "juice in the morning" idea.

Of course QF being consistently inconsistent who knows? :p

Anyway I much prefer a juice option to water or water.

Anyway I did MEL-SYD, SYD-OOL and OOL-MEL over the weekend

MEL-SYD QF412 0730
choice of museli or "potato and bacon omlette with sausages" which was different enough to be interesting omlette wise. Quite tasy. Had some onion piecces too.

SYD-OOL QF860 0945

I didn't eat. I think possibly it was more brekky options or maytbe a toastie.

OOL-MEL QF881 1140

Excellent options of Sechuan Pork with rice or Braised Duck with rice and asian greens. I honestly took a minute to decide (sorry to the other pax!) and in the end had the pork. It was pretty good and filling.

Wine was a Margaret River Sauv Blanc and was OK (no S+S already won brownie points)

Crew were fantastiic as they usually are on these sorts of runs.

I don't know why but options ex-OOL always seem to be a little bit better than others (bar transcon) which is odd given they are double catered from whatever port (SYD or MEL) they come from.

QF650 PER-BNE
Breakfast flight, but cooked offering of omelette with bacon was surprisingly better than average, could pass for a restaurant meal. The usual GB bubbles were offered to wash it down, and was much appreciated.

QF542 SYD-BNE
A short hop (landed in BNE just before storms closed the place) but a better than average chicken ravioli with ratatouille washed down with a suprisingly passable Lambrook Pinot Noir. Good service by Larissa, all in all a good flight!

QF786 BNE-CNS 11/2 actual departure 10pm!

Pre departure water / water
Pre dinner drinks offered
Choices were chorizo and chickpea salad or green curry. Unfortunately the curry didn't have much taste.
Wine was the Shaw and Smith savignon blanc.

Looking forward to flying Dom J again today. MEL-SYD and SYD-OOL. Will be fun! Hope the food is to my taste today.

SYD - BNE lunch service.
PDB - water/ water
Meal - black bean beef with noodles or carrot and thyme soup.
The beef was tough and stringy. Meal was lukewarm.
Small KoKo Black chocolate for dessert.

QF 779 MEL - PER today (on their dreaming liner) one of those when they are bad they make you wonder why you fly them kind of flights

I was 3k, didn’t get a choice of meal....
New (to me) cutlery

Trout, fish was good but the rest not. The Julian’d Veggies/salad was smaller then the gap in the fork prongs so was like eating soup with chopsticks

Salty chicken and rice that was raw mixed with cooked rice

Cheese was nice

I would show dessert but they didn’t give me the 1 bite ice cream because a 4 hour flight wasn’t long enough

Wines were the same as Friday, ‘14 dandilion Chardonnay and Woodlands Cab Merlot

Wow, that's woeful.
I bet the chopped salad was the usual off-cuts too. How this passes as a J meal (and whole menu, actually) I will never know.
Did your IFE work at all?
The salad was the standard fare - but no vinigaret this time so just dry leaves.
No IFE or Q-Streaming for the entire flight. 1h 15 minutes after takeoff to get a glass of water and a glass of wine - I guess that’s only 15 minutes more than usual.....

I actually meant the chopped salad main plate - but probably the same.:(
