BNE-ADL QF 667 on Friday, departing 11.55am, so expected something for lunch in J.
Options were spinach soup, pasta salad or the Cheese Box. Was a little surprised at the lack of either a warm solid food option, or in fact any protein component in the meals, and the CSM serving immediately agreed.
Lucky had chosen 1D, as the first two rows all went for the soup until it ran out, suggesting that pax had an expectation of something warm for lunch!
(Interesting that the small, heart shaped syrup cake was labelled as gluten, egg, dairy and yeast free)
The CSM later offered spare Cheese boxes as a "second course" which was appreciated.
I've emailed Customer Care, suggesting that even some decent mixed sandwiches, a mini quiche or glam party pie would be appreciated, at surely not much cost differential.
Hope the saving on providing separate VGML options is working out!
aside from the fact that it's clearly stated and easy to locate that your flight is a refreshment service....seems like you've interpreted your preference for a hot meal at lunch onto those that chose the soup option..maybe they just wanted that option!!! (and do you eat a hot meal every day for lunch?)..if so..well done!!
I do enjoy when pax give their 'suggestions' to an airline on what food could be offered... wouldn't it be great to have an airline that caters to EVERY PAXs 'whims'/'wants'/'desires' on every flight, every day!...how many options would you like sir/ma'am?? airlines do their best to 'satisfy' as many people as possible within the constraints of its costs and unique 'environment'.. things 'run out' or aren't to everyones 'taste' EVEN in First Class
did you think the CSM would disagree with you?? and make you even more 'displeased'?? .. one rule of 'customer interaction'...'tell 'em what they want to hear'
happy flying
