No one seems to be posting on this thread, maybe everyone has moved their business over to Virgin?

Anyway, here's a few evening meal pics, to try and get things going again...

Dinner Service

Sorry about the average picture, I always feel really self conscious taking pics on the plane!

Salmon with Japanese Noodles. Totally meh.

Other option was poached chicken salad. I've had enough of Qantas' poached chicken for two lifetimes.

Rather weird service pattern on this flight. I was in Row 2 of a 767 and was served second last. No trolley, all served from the Galley. Seems higher status pax were served before the rest.

Ive been served from the galley before, but seats were served in order.

QF418 MEL - SYD
Refreshment
April 2014

Three options for this ‘refreshment’ flight. Bacon and Egg sandwich, cold ocean trout tart with rocket, or fruit salad. All served with yoghurt and berries.

I opted for the Bacon and Egg sandwich, as did my seat mate. Was certainly tasty, though a little hard to cut through on the tray.

I have flown QF domestic business in the last month 4 times with Mrs Scallops (MEL/SYD). I have to say that the meals were appalling, if that's your premium product Qantas then you need to lift your game. Cheese box at lunch time is not a meal and a dodgy "vegetarian salad" is not going to serve as an option. I think I will go back to Y class, those meals were cough and not acceptable for a premium product. I am trying to support you QF, but you are not playing your part.

While I may not have expressed myself so strongly, two QFd J flights this week, one at lunch time, one at dinner time, with the offerings on each being soup OR salad (one the vegetarian referred to above) OR cheese plate, leaves me also saying: "Qantas: Soup OR a small salad OR a cheese platter is scarcely lunch and certainly not dinner".

I haven't kept up with this thread, as I don't do much domestic flying these days - but when did this "enhancement" occur?

Lunch and dinner seem to flux in and out of different grades of products? What's the go?

One lunch I had some time ago was a proper meal. Now people are saying it's only soup, salad or cheese.

I could understand soup, salad or cheese for a meal between CBR and MEL or SYD, but golden triangle (and OOL) surely should be a proper meal, usually one hot and one large salad, or two hot meal choices. Unless things have been simplified :o

Regularly fly MEL-BNE on the lunch time flights and its been the pathetic and disgusting 3 choice options of Soup,Cheese box or Salad for many months now....and no, you cant have all three !!!...If it wasnt for the ability to have a half decent lunch in the lounge then I would be more upset...As it is I am seriously reconsidering flying Y in future with the hot wrap or sandwich much more palatable than the J meal...Enhancement...Definitely Not !!!

IME Soup, salad or cheese (in a box) , seem to be the snack flight options. It seems that over summer many flights that were previously considered meal flights, became snack flights. (I think my salad picture, from the previous page, was actually an evening snack flight come to think about it.)

Does not seem much doubt that a 1pm flight should be meal, not snack. But soup/salad/cheese were the only options on my flight last week.

The snack options sound pretty disappointing. When I flew in Jan, I had four "refreshment" flights and each one was a decent meal (ie bacon and eggs etc).

12 noon until 2.00pm are to most considered a lunch flight and in my humble opinion the current "enhancement " qualifies as a snack and is DEFINITELY not lunch...Its the little things that matter and its blatantly obvious that management just doesnt care...and thats the real reason for the current high level of dissatisfaction with Qantas.

Fine by me. My VA switch is all but complete - I'll be Platinum shortly. I think I have 10 flights booked in my QF account but don't have plans to book any more after all of these enhancements.

Lunch yesterday (1pm flight) on VA between MEL-SYD was a delicious lamb dish with a warmed bread roll (something you don't really see on QF now) and a delicious cheesecake for dessert. Choice of still or sparkling water, and of course alcoholic beverages.

It was more than enough to sustain my until I had dinner at 7pm. ie: how lunch should be.
