Sparkling water or water is all that QF offer on domestic flightsSo no glass of bubbly now for PD or was this just a one off?

Geez, can tell how often I’ve flown Dom J with QF.Sparkling water or water is all that QF offer on domestic flights
Yeah, it’s pretty poor isn’t it? They haven’t even offered orange juice on the flights I’ve taken.Geez, can tell how often I’ve flown Dom J with QF.
And to think friends mock us for choosing VA
Even worse QF now think a bottle of lukewarm water is sufficient as PDB.Geez, can tell how often I’ve flown Dom J with QF.

Nowadays breakfast is the only time you'll get anything other than water on a QF dom flight. Pathetic.Yeah, it’s pretty poor isn’t it? They haven’t even offered orange juice on the flights I’ve taken.
Wow must say I haven’t taken any notice because of the few recent Dom J flights they have nearly all been early morning flights so OJ or water just seemed normal.Nowadays breakfast is the only time you'll get anything other than water on a QF dom flight. Pathetic.
Sometimes get cranberry juice if you are really, really lucky.Wow must say I haven’t taken any notice because of the few recent Dom J flights they have nearly all been early morning flights so OJ or water just seemed normal.
When Qantas first stated matching VA oon the coast to coast flights on the days of XFA/B the dis offer sparkiling wine on those routes.QF doesn't do PDB bubbly on domestic flights. Not new. Been this way as long as I've flown J.
Flight in question was BNE-SYD. But are you saying the trans-con flights used to have sparkling wine? When Qantas first stated matching VA oon the coast to coast flights on the days of XFA/B the dis offer sparkiling wine on those routes.
ISTR that indeed being the case; It was not for very long.Flight in question was BNE-SYD. But are you saying the trans-con flights used to have sparkling wine?
I was not at all impressed with the PER international lounge. Staff were a bit snooty. The food was woeful. Grill your own sandwiches the only hot buffet option. Three people near me ordered gourmet sausages in bread rolls from the kitchen. All took one bite and put it down in disgust. In future I'll stay in the domestic J lounge for the pizza.
To be fair I ate all I wanted onboard. But an international J flight of 3 hours should offer a starter and main.

I still find the “Water or water” question ridiculous each time. Just offer some juice as an alternative at least, like BA does.Sparkling water or water is all that QF offer on domestic flights

Not sure the point re PER-MEL meals is right. I flew a late morning flight back in May 18 and had a starter plate plus a small cup of the soup, followed by a main (roast chicken from memory) and then dessert. So it appears that the PER transit lounge is like a normal QP combined with a (poor) Bunnings sausage sizzle.
Maybe QF could get Uber Eats to deliver pizza from the Dom J lounge to the transit lounge...
QF have not offered a 'full' three courses on PER-MEL-PER for years now. I believe that the excuse is the flight time is too short to complete the service. Obviously that is a lie...

I rarely have the ice cream so it was more likely the cheese plate. Have had full dessert before (including a wonderful sticky date pudding) but suspect that wasn't PER-MEL.Was the dessert served from the trolley (a proper non ice cream dessert and/or cheese plate etc) or was it just an ice cream stick thrown in your general direction?
If it was the later (which is what is indicated on most menus posted here), it is similar to what used to be provided in Y on transcons, is different to what is provided by QF on PER-SYD and PER-BNE (they provide (or used to provide) the former option on these routes) and therefore I would not consider a 'full' course.
Some may call three leaves of lettuce in a bowl a salad course but it is not....

No-one counts the salad.
Trolley service or direct from galley makes no difference to me.
There you go. I had soup, kingfish, chicken and cheese. 4 courses! The latest PER-MEL (not QF9/10) J menu I could find was posted by yourself on 28 May 2018 (a copy below).
I would guess that the cheese plate you may have received was not part of the dessert course but part of the 'anytime' menu.
I also note that the actual dessert was the ice cream stick...
