Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF1508 CBR-SYD
17:35 departure

I was pleasantly surprised to be served a hot dinner on this flight. Luckily I was sitting in row 1, because the pilots asked the cabin crew to prepare for landing when the flight attendant got to row 2

Had this for lunch CFS-SYD on Sun 20th March* - not bad for a ~50 minute flight.

Do you mean Sun 20th March? I heard a report that Russell Crowe was on that flight ;)
I do. He was indeed - seated in row 1. I understand this is a pretty regular occurrence for CFS flyers.

The chicken was the only meal offered, so i assume Russel also had it?

QF650 PER-SYD. No PPB or even bottles of water handed out. No pillow or offer to hang jacket. Obviously no spirits.

Breakfast had two hot and a cold offering. I went with this which was ok. I took up the minosa option due to lack of bloody Mary.

I finally succumbed to the prosciutto salad on this evenings SYD-MEL as have a dinner drinks on arrival and was pleasantly surprised with it accompanied by a glass of dandelion vineyard shiraz.

Alternative was chicken in parmesan sauce which isn't one of my favourites.

This chicken and leek pie was served in Y on the short SYD-CBR hope at 5pm today. I'm sure I've seen pictures posted of sadder offerings in J!

This was in Y? Wow, the catering on that sector has really improved ever since Qantas started feeling threatened by ZL & VA!

The Link-operated VA flights even offer a small snack, unlike VA's own metal! (flew today and got a pretty decent choc chip cookie)

Just a heads-up, and I guess it’s my own fault for not looking through the hype on this one… the ‘plant-based creations’ menu is simply a rebranding of the vegetarian course that’s always been available on QFi flights.

Given all press coverage i thought this was QF venturing into the meat replacement sphere… but sadly no. Same same vegetarian course rebranded.

I flew from ADL-MEL a couple of weeks ago, and had a special meal ordered:

QF meal fail 1.jpg

The CSM made a point of photographing the meal before he showed me as he was horrified. There were two or three pieces of plastic sticking out of the food. I did not go looking for more! The bowl was intact so the plastic ended up in the meal before it was covered in foil.

Despite the CSM making a report, and me reaching out to QF there has been no response from QF. I was giving them a chance to respond before posting here.

Just posting some recent meals below in shorthaul snack: lasagne and chicken and quinoa salad (both not bad)...wines are mostly dandelion shiraz and either sav blanc or a chardonnay.

I've had an interesting afternoon of travel with a misconnect but every QF crew member I have interacted with on the ground or in the air has been amazing.

On this evenings SYD-MEL I had my jacket hung for the first time in 2 years and the CSM came to each chair and asked what meal and delivered direct from gallery.

I fly a few times a week but have no need to call QF so I am a very happy QF flyer...
