QF772 PER-MEL April 5 738 VH-VXQ "Redlands" sched 0950 actual pushback 0943 takeoff (06) 0950
First J flight after a longer than usual summer hiatus to the infrequent (for me) destination of MEL, sorely missing being able to do this trip on QF10. Nonetheless a good flight in the usual surrounds of a narrow body in the brave new world post covid, good service by CSM Jonathan and FA Angela.
Bottle of water for the PDB, prompt jacket hanging. Very efficient boarding process, pushed back early for the first time in living memory.

Pre lunch drinks swiftly served after getting up to cruise, had the Lois Lane blanc de blancs from the ADL Hills, better than average for its price point ($19 at Dan’s). Served with the usual Santos nibbles.

Lunch of beef curry with rice, tender enough meat but nothing more than AN would have served in Y back in the day. Good quinoa and burrata (or something in that ballpark) salad accompanied. The other offerings were pork and a salad of some description. Koko Black bar also which MrsDrJ loves, so stashed this in the bag to pass on to her.
Was very pleased though to see the Credaro Kinship chardonnay on the list. One of the best value whites from Margs, $35 on QF wine but drinks like something costing at least 50. Definitely worthy of a top up.

Late serving of the usual Maggie’s ice cream, good as always.
