Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Tue 26 Jan CNS-BNE 14:30 departure.

Ham and Brie croissant. I picked it up and ate it like a sandwich, unlike the guy across the aisle who used a fork and knife.

Australia Day lamington for dessert.

BNE-SYD 17:25 departure.

I get that it's <6pm departure, but surely with an 8pm arrival, these flights should have dinner service...? (It's dinner in economy cabin)

Tomato and saffron soup. The Parmesan cheese thingys were delicious.

MEL-BNE 17:05 Afternoon refreshment

Was a bit surprised they didn't serve dinner. I took this flight many times and had dinner but this time I noticed no dinner in Y as well.
Maybe different policy on weekend flights??

Anyway, it was an op-up and I also got row 1 shadow so really had no case to complain ;)

Choices were between soup of some sort, Vietnamese salad and cheese box.

I didn't read Kevrosmith post on this thread and was expecting dinner so didn't eat in the lounge, big mistake!

Vietnamese salad with beef brisket.

Usually QF don't serve the best Asian dishes but this salad was VERY good.

I was still hungry so asked for cheese box.

Wines on offer:

S.C. Pannell Pinot Grigio 2015
Tapestry Shiraz 2013

Mmm, this does not look good for my early night flight in paid J MEL - SYD Sat for June long weekend.
Don't remember the exact time of my departure, but all I do remember is that its the only 330 (for now) on the 11 June. Paws crossed I get something nice though on the plane OR...
Its the MEL J lounge and a bit in the QP that evening then, looks like.

MEL-SYD Snack flight (I think). Turkey (or chicken I forget which) and pesto pannini. I've had this a few times now and despite the presentation it is actually quite tasty.

And even better when they have chutney available.

My last 3 flights in a row the dessert has been the same sticky date cake thing. I find it to be boring!!

I thought it said last 3 flights to the desert (like) Ayers Rock all the same kinda boring ..... :p

The other day dinner flight SYD-MEL (yes Pooch, a 332 :p ) it was a choice. I forget the other option but I went for Beef Tenderloin w/ roast veggies, and it was actually really good. The meat was well cooked yet tender, and the veggies were crisp, hot and plenty of them. Very enjoyable.

Getting a bit sick of the toasted turkey sangas though earlier in the day. think a newer and possibly healthier option might be better.

Did get offered a bottle of wine on a MEL-ADL sector too. I was the only one to have a glass and CSM offered me the rest of the bottle at the end since she "hated to waste it" ... now in my fridge :)

BNE-MEL Lunch

Selection was between Laksa style noodle soup, chicken salad or toasted ham & brie croissant.

Love laksa so went for the soup.

It was, as most QF J soups, very good. Full of flavour and a bit spicy, yum!

Since I skipped breakfast (and the J lounge) I was still hungry so asked if any meals left (cabin was only 50% full). CSM recommend the croissant, it was good and did the job.

Small dessert was coffee eclair.

White wine: Eden Hall Riesling 2015
Red wine: Jericho Tempranillo 2015

Both flights yesterday (27th February).

SYD-MEL - 09:30 departure

Choice of a turkey toasted sandwich, ham salad or a fruit salad. I had the ham salad.

It was actually really nice and I felt it was appropriate for that time of the day (I'd already had breakfast).

Washed down with the Yarra Burn sparkling. Not as nice as the Grant Burge, but it doesn't seem to create as much mess (the GB had a tendency to open with explosive force) so I found the crew were more proactive in offering sparkling to begin with and again with a second piccolo.

MEL-SYD - 19:00 departure

Choice of the pork schnitzel or chat potato salad. I had the schnitzel (I declined the bread).

Not my favourite dish. While it tasted better than it looks it was quite fatty so I didn't eat all of it. Crew were very proactive with wine top ups though, and I accidentally managed about 5 glasses of wine on that short flight (I wasn't driving)

BNE-DRW

28 FEB 2016

QF824

Breakfast service. First up was a proactively poured Yarra Burn. Hated it.

Next up was breakfast. Mexican fried eggs with chorizo. Was actually really good. Nice and spicy hot. Note the baby Tabasco sauce bottle handed out with the meal. Yoghurt was too tart. Had only a little, but the apple sauce was ok.

I have been posting on the VA thread, so I thought that I would also contribute to the 'dark side' as well.

Menu from QF767 BNE-PER a couple of weeks ago (night flight so lighting is not great).

The beef was literally 'blue', so if you do not like your steak that way you would be in trouble.

As in color blue, as in BSI (blue sky interior-737), or blue as in very underdone?
I have an evening J service in Jun, my first on the 330 if they don't do an equipment swap.
Departing MEL 19.00 arriving SYD 20.15 or so.
