Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Have you ever been knocked back in doing this? I sometimes get the cheese instead of the dessert on my coast to coast flights, but almost always come out hard/frozen so stopped getting it. Might have to try this...

Nope - the little star next to it usually says something along the lines of "to be enjoyed anytime throughout the flight"

Mind you I rarely have an entree

CNS - BNE Friday 11 November QF649 12:45pm departure

Choice of jaffle, salad or soup

Was hoping to try the jaffle, but only 4 had been loaded on board (all taken by row 1), so settled for salad. Quite tasty.

So the jaffle is the new toasted sanga. huge change QF!!! :p

actually the other week had some North American visitors sitting behind me in J and were totally confused by the word "jaffle" (as you'd expect) yet the FA didn't wise up till the third "What was that?" inquiry that it was not hearing that was the problem but comprehension.

Makes you think maybe they should just go back to calling them toasted sandwiches and be done with it

S&S doesn't change though :(

Back to the future... Sept menu for a Nov flight today (I didn't take a pic of the menu on this flight, the pic below is from a previous trip... exactly the same though):

Obligatory pre-meal drink: Vodka soda with almonds

Bresaola with Italian slaw and Grana Padano. Wine was Clonakilla 2015 Shiraz.

Main Plate: Greek yeeros. Lamb was still as tasty as a last remembered it. Chips were still terrible.

Dessert: Warm pear tart (old pic, same dish)

Main Plate: Breakfast for dinner... the asian seafood omelette. Like rubber, but filling wasn't too bad.

Dessert: Sponge cake. Just to top off the calorie count.

I am on this flight next week and hope they change the menu. Otherwise it will be 5 J flights in a row with one of the worst J menus QF have had in recent memory.

Why do the BNE flights get real dessert, but the MEL flights only get ice cream on a stick?!

Is there really much difference between a sponge cake and an ice-cream on stick realistically?

But I do agree the desserts could have a re-think.

To make up for the constant down-gauges to a B738 and taking the hit for MEL/SYD to use the new J seats first whilst we got stuck with the PE-style/7 across seats during the refurb period...:lol:

One comes on a plate, and one comes off as cheap. Ice creams on a stick belong in Y, not J.

At less than $1.00/serve of ingredients and quality to match, I agree. Maybe they have the Grade 8 home economics students working for QF catering now..
May I suggest that Qantas is getting exactly what it is prepared to pay for, RATHER THAN Qantas J customers getting what they paid (through the nose) for!
