QF506 SYD-BNE 11 Oct
Brekkie was ok, omelet a bit plasticy, spuds not quite cooked, bacon forgetful.

Spiced apple yoghurt wins the prize here and the raspberry? Muffin was like a sticky date pudding in a wrapper. Good stuff.

QF119 BNE-AKL 11 October.
PBD champagne was tart. Not to my taste.

CSM came along and said hello, as I was a bit far back (4A) would I like to pre-order lunch? Not had this before. Took the pork pasta over the beef. Bit bland, pasta soggy. Tart was soft and gooey but90FDE3E6-6E03-422E-872B-45D6A0447EA1.jpeg

The biggest disappointment was no James Boags beer, only James Squire pale ale or Little Creatures pacific ale. Excellent CSM told me he filed a note stating peeps wanted Boags back

I guess no printed menu on the trans-tasman sector. Was there a pre-meal drink service?

Nope, all memory by the crew.
Drinks served same time as the meal. Now I think about it I had to ask for drink refills, they didn’t come back. My aisle guy was too busy chatting to an acquaintance from down back to do another run

Beef was tender, mash was mushy. Veges crisp.
Dessert was forgettable. 2 little nibbles and closed the box.

Wine was nice, a Marlborough Pinot Noir which was light.
To my distress not only did they not have James Boags but also no bourbon. Sacre Bleu.

QF1559 MEL-HBA 7:30-8:45 pm.

Beef in oyster sauce or “healthy option” (unspecified). Chose the latter; Lindt chokkie.

Very nice, although the bread plate and butter implied bread, which as not available.

On QF561 Friday 14th, the options were a couscous with chicken or beef & rice. Only wanting a light meal I was peeved when the offer was only beef and rice when it was our service. What happened to the couscous I ask? 1st row took them was the reply. I am in 2C, therefore first in that row to be asked.
Is QF that mean/dumb/other they load 3 meals only?

QF9 from MEL to PER. Had the Braised Lamb which was nice. They ran out of Champagne before takeoff, very unimpressed and, as a Champagne fan, not happy. Nearly 1 hour wait for baggage too. Dessert was a Pat's n Sticks ice cream sandwich.

SIN - LHR on QF1, I must admit that the chicken broth (similar to Pho Ga just not shredded) was extremely delicious!

I am also attaching the J breakfast on BA712 (LHR - ZRH, a 1 hour 40 mins flight) as a comparison: Poached eggs on Kale and Tomato - miles ahead to what we get in domestic J!

QF741 option of sandwich (Swiss cheese, prosciutto, sun-dried tomato or a grain salad with prosciutto. Went the sandwich which both me and the Lord enjoyed . And as sourdough aficionados didn’t care about the Carb double up with a side of bread. Great western Shiraz was delicious ….. gave away the Lindt ball 68113ABA-599F-4B23-A016-9673AEE6E4DA.jpeg
