Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF1922 CBR/BNE 12/2/25

CSM Stefan (BNE based) aboard the E190 had it easy - only 1 other FA and pax load was only 24 (3 in J). We chatted for a bit of the trip, being a night time flight.

Dinner was the pie with mashed potato and I was famished, after arriving from MEL 2 hours before and having a meeting airside but not in the Lounge.

3 options for the evening transcon QF 653, went with the “lamb tagine” with a cous cous salad. Was very enjoyable, nice flavours and very attentive friendly service from the crew despite a fair amount of turbulence until past ADL

Yesterday was downgraded to a 737 MEL-PER on QF773. service and drinks were great but the food was horrible.

Options were Curry Chicken and Rice - obviously only 3 loaded as 3 people in row 1 chose it and my mate in the window was told they had run out
Then Prawn Ravioli and Falafel Salad

I was in row 2 so only had the 2 options left and honestly that Prawn Pasta was the worst thing I have ever eaten, the lady next to me said "I see you didn't like it either" and my friend in 1 said his was like eating porridge. It was also just prawns stacked onto pasta, not ravioli.

I thought I took a picture but sadly not. I've had the chilli prawns a couple times and they were really good but this was like eating rubber bullets with 0 taste, some tomato paste sauce and the pasta was absolute mush. Can say the cheeseburger at Maccas was far better on the way out of the Airport.

Lucky the wonton noodle soup in the lounge was on point prior.

Barramundi was on point.

Was keen to try the panna cotta dessert but didn’t bother as service was slow so just went to sleep after dinner.

First time trying the French toast and thought it was excellent, aside from being a bit stingy on the berries:

maybe they are referring to tanjia! which is cooked in a pot over ashes, and turned out onto the plate!

that must be it 🤣
My guess is that they Googled 'casserole', and then had a look for possible fancy synonyms :)

Maybe next month we can look forward to beef pottage:

A suggested alternative.

A number of people here use the word ‘tasty’ to describe their Qantas meals. Tasty they may be, but the plating and presentation is absolutely appalling. Would anyone accept a restaurant meal that was tasty but presented like that? The Qantas cabin of course is not a restaurant but you do pay quite a bit for sitting there.

And of course, other Airlines manage to present their meals very nicely.

Does anyone know if the long haul international airlines departing Australia or use the same kitchen or meals contractor?

Don't disagree with you, but have to say that I'd rather they nail the "taste" aspect of their meals and then have a bonus of it being presented nicely, rather than the other way around. Ideally you can score both, but if I can only get one of those aspects right for some reason, then I know where my vote goes ;)

QF27 SYD to SCL - Feb 25

Overall, I enjoyed the food and while I don't wish to upset others, it was all tasty 😉

What let this flight down was the poor service. The attendant down my aisle, wasn't friendly in the slightest and made me feel like my presence was an inconvenience.

Thankfully, I tend to get pretty decent attendants on long-hual QF who tend to make this experience. He sadly was probably the worst one I can think of.

Tasting plate starter - which I enjoyed.

I asked for the Barra for my main but was told "no barramundi", so went the steak. Unexpectedly, it wasn't dry and was tasty (sorry that word again). The mash was really good.

Cheese plate for dessert, which was fine, but really could be enhanced with some nuts and grapes etc.

I was going to ask for a Panna Cotta if there was one spare, but didn't want to ask Mr Angry.

Breakfast was good. I actually ordered the toast and not the crumpet, but it was good. I don't eat Vegemite (yes, I consider myself normal), so I assume someone got my toast and I got their crumpet.

The flight itself was good. I was well informed during delays and QF handled the misconnection exactly how they should. So credit to them for that. Shame about this particular crew member.

Yes, following on from the previous post. Enhancement may result in either the cheese and/or the crackers being completely removed. No nuts. No grapes.
