Just got this offer. What would it actually ~ cost putting $2.5K on this card which I've never used. I'd consider using it for purchases, not cash out - if that makes any difference?

No amount of points is likely to justify the poor exchange rates used by this card. However if you think the currency you are buying will go up 10%+ against the AUD by the time you want to use it then it might have a use. However I am not into currency speculation and just use the 28 Degrees Mastercard for overseas purchases.
