Qantas Cash Card

I think it was the system that was down as I did manage to get back in. Looks like it's pushed my deposit back a day...
I would go with system issues as the booking system did this to me a number of times today.

Finally able to log in this morning and change password and then access my account. Looks like everything has returned to normal programming.

I was just able to access my account. I meant to log in yesterday but didn't get around to it. I'm glad I didn't try now given the problems. A transaction I completed yesterday is showing up correctly in my account.

Going to Bali for 5 days, thinking to use Q cash card again as I have before, but they do not have IDR, but as i understand it can use Q cash card AUD at teller machines there to get IDR, I expect to spend about a grand AUD.

Didn't want to walk around with a grand, its not a lot of difference in exchange rate for this small amount anyway, and the card is easy to use.

I'd probably split it between cash and card, so you can initially use cash and find out the on-street currency exchange rate...

I haven't used my card in ages - better remember to transfer some funds to use.

easy to use, but it's going to cost you about $50 in qantas fees for the convenience... even more than that if you make multiple withdrawals rather than a single one.

And either way you'll be walking around with either IDR (after a withdrawal) or AUD (before you change it over). Is there a difference?

Well if its $50 extra looks like being cash then.

Just trying to change my address and have been told to email a utility bill etc within the last three months of my new address to [email protected]. Can anyone else confirm that this is the correct process? Just want to be sure I ain't being taken for a ride, given I changed my address on QFF online with no issues.

I had issues making payments once after i moved house. Called Qantas cash and they said it was becuase my post code was wrong. I was able to update it over the phone. They advised that was the process for updating it. It cant be done any other way and isnt linked to QFF.
I wasnt asked for any bill or proof of address. They just confirmed who i was over the phone and let me change it. (Dont recall if i only changed just the post code or the entire address, perhaps Qantas Cash are sending me letters to my old address with my new postcode.)

I used the Q cash card in ATMs in Bali. It worked fine. Don't know what $50 fee others are talking about. I paid a small ATM fee only. The exchange was ok

The $50 (per thousand) represents the 5% difference in exchange rate over using something like the citi card. Plus if you make multiple withdrawals you'll be charged for each one of those. A 'small fee' for withdrawal... depends how you look at it. I try to avoid any fee.

I think your maths is a "little" off.

If exchange rate A is 5% worse than exchange rate B it doesn't mean it's an extra 5% of the total amount :)

Math has never been my strong point :)

However - looking at IDR exchange rates today. For AUD1000 Citi would give me close enough to the official bank rate, or IDR10225364. QF cash would give me 9657020. Difference = 568344, of $55. So around 5% given the slight variation to the bank rate on Citi.

Plus maybe three withdrawals to take out the $1000... another $6 in Qantas fees. That comes to $55 or so. Not cheap.

Anyone know if you can instant load using Vpay?

"Need to access your funds immediately? Simply select 'Instant Load' when loading via the Qantas Cash website, and for a fee of just 1%, you can use your MasterCard® debit card or Visa debit card to load funds instantaneously"

Thanks for that Sdtravel. Maybe the process has since changed? Either way, looks like the email is legit so will send something off today
