No, the travel pass conditions explicitly state that this is not allowed.

Specifically, it states;

If passengers qualify for multiple bonus Status Credits offers for the same flight, the highest value bonus Status Credits offer will be applied to each individual qualifying segment. For example, if you qualify and register for a 50% more Status Credits offer and a double Status Credits offer on the same flight, you will receive the double Status Credits offer as it will result in the highest total number of bonus Status Credits. Only one Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary.

However, you should be able to register for double points and therefore receive double points + double status credits on the same flight.

Why are those who live abroad being excluded from this? I've been doing HEL-SYD via LHR return 2 - 4 times a year for years, and DSC has helped maintain P status. There's been a two year travel break, but it's starting up again and next trip will be in September. DSC has always been available to those resident abroad and for trips originating abroad in previous offers. I registered anyhow and got the confirmation email, so the registration process doesn't seem to look at your address in your profile.

Thanks for responding. Others have already pointed out that CPT's inside knowledge is published in the FAQs. An excellent result, I have slready burned a travel pass, and burning a flight credit next. A just result also, as the flight credit was a DSC booking abandoned due to interstate lockouts

If I book a PRN for one pax in X class to a QFi destination, can I add other pax to the booking later in the year and change to U class (assuming availablity)?

Aim is to hold some PNRs without committing to much $ or points.

Given the Classic Award fee waiver to Dec22 I'm thinking this gives greater flexibility than the GV method.

It's been so long since I've booked anything my memory is sketchy - anyone see any issues with this approach?

Using the Amex Travel Credit would be an idea for the 1 stop NZ iternaries. Over the New Year period its a bit more expensive costing $1500. Using the $450 credit reduces it down to $1050.

Defeats the purpose of a status run but I do have some hotel certificates to use by early-mid 2023. Maybe I will stay around Auckland for a bit during the New Year holidays.

1) As I understand, bookings must be from AU to qualify - so booking LHR-BNE-LHR would not qualify, right? Even though my QFF address is registered in Australia and I am an Australian-resident member per the T&C on the email.

2) As an extension to the above, if I book BNE-LHR-BNE, do both legs count as an 'AU' ticket? Or are they claiming only the BNE-LHR leg gets the DSC?

3) Can I make the booking before 01/04, then adjust the booking flights after 01/04, and still qualify (assuming they're still before the 2023 cut-off date)? For example, if I'm not sure exactly what dates I'll travel?

Trying to work out what esoteric combo of flight bookings I can do to maximise this over the rest of the year as I'm moving to London in mid-year but will be back for a wedding in August and probably near Christmas. So I'm thinking a BNE-LHR-BNE booking that does the move over + the return for wedding, then a BNE-LHR-BNE that is for returning to the UK after the wedding + back for Christmas, and then an orphan one-way BNE-LHR for going back to London after Christmas. That should net me some juicy bonuses if I can justify the cost!

Please note that oftentimes what the T&C's say and what eventuates within the Qantas IT system do not always align. Sometimes you will not get what you are entitied to and will need to chase it, othertimes you will get a nice bonus that you shouldn't have earnt.

Based on the T&C's:
Q1: No
Q2: Both legs will credit. Just needs to originate in Aus.
Q3: Traditionally hasn't been allowed but sometimes they post.


I'm in a gray area myself with a booking CBR - LHR - CBR. CBR - LHR section is on 01 April so not eligible but the return is. I would like to believe that my booking is still treated as 'originating' in Aus.

Again T&C vs IT doesn't always match

Yes, flight credit is ok to use per the Qantas FAQs

I've booked to fly a domestic flight early in the flying window. It will be interesting to see how quickly the DSC post. Generally takes a bit longer for the first batch of flights.

I guess it depends on one's anniversary date. I mean if it is say Feb 28, than this promo offers limited opportunity (only a few weeks into March) for the next membership year, however if one's anniversary date is say July, then obviously one can book DSC qualifying flights into their next membership year that are beyond the rollover amount.

I do think a number of people can use this to jumpstart (above rollovers) their next membership year - beyond the extended status expiry since there are unlikely to be further extensions imo.

Which is exactly what I have done. With a February 28 anniversary, this is a great kick start to retaining WP in 2024/25.
