So for those doing NZ SC runs, am I reading correctly that you can't international transit currently in NZ? I have a run to AKL from MEL (via SYD) in August that is tight so am wondering if I will need to change one of the flights to have a bigger gap.
I think AKL you can. CHC you can't

My QFF app is still showing the 3pm flight as going ahead. I guess I better check the screens to make sure.

My flight back via BNE is at 6:10am. So does that mean no point turning up till around 4:30am? That seems awfully tight (though I am travelling HLO).

Check in will open at 3 am so you can get your BPs and bag drop if you have any bags but 4am probably might be more appropriate.

AKL you can't do an overnight transit airside either if you arrive midnight FYI.

I did it pre DPD days. What time do you arrive and depart? If you can convince MEL staff to issue your returning BP and transit is open then it's definitely possible. I also recall that there was a service desk near the transit area as well but I could be misremembering.
Both day trips a fortnight apart. The first one arrives at 12.45pm into AKL and then departs 15.55pm. The next run arrives in AKL at 14.35 and departs at 16.10. At least the first one has the longer gap and will inform whether I need to change timing on the second SC run

Both look okay and I think they meet the minimum connection time as well. I would keep it as is if you're familiar with AKL. Assuming it's the same aircraft doing the turnaround you have a slight assurance that if the inbound is delayed then the outbound would be delayed (although turnarounds can be done quickly so don't bet on it.)

I wanted to allow the maximum time I could for a connection and today I could a decent gap though not quite as much as I would have liked.
Be careful what you wished for... Flight delayed?

Still boarding, so the departure will be after 10pm. Was starting to think we could be told to come back tomorrow. Though it will mean I won’t get to the hotel till really late.

Still on the ground and I already have the standard SC. Looks like Business is only about half full too. An empty seat next to me which is nice.

I will be doing an overnight Syd- Melb-Auck-Melb-Syd Arriving Sun 12:30am then departing Sun 0600.
Any recent experience to share with being classified as a transit pax and a pre departure Covid test?
Completed this trip.
QF cancelled my 1500 SYD-Melb to the 1600.
Syd QF check in (carry on only) issued all BPs including return and didnt bother to check my complete Au DPD.
I had done a pre RAT and completed NZ Travel Declaration as a non transit pax.
The Melb-Auck segment was delayed 1 hour so arrived around 0130.

At AKL, the doors to the transit area were closed but had a phone number to ring for access, so I walked up to the Egates and had a chat to a guard before i went ahead and completed immigration etc, he jumped on the radio and said to go back and someone will be there soon to let you through to transit.

Myself and about 5 others went through.

I had a walk around nothing open, just vending machines and some coin massage chairs, then decided on the Gate 15 area for a sleep, longer padded seats/benches and much quieter. As mentioned very bright so bring an eye mask.

ANZ lounge opened at 0430 allowed to enter on QF Biz BP. Nice lounge btw.

So for the moment until you can guarantee QF issuing all BPs and NZ drop test requirements etc, safer to just plan as if you are going to go through NZ immigration etc and if you dont then its a bonus.

Good to know about the transit arrangement at AKL. Is anything open airside?

Received DSC already for my trip to NZ. I have now retained SG without needing an extension. I expect the trip home will credit promptly too. Currently enjoying the Gondola in Christchurch.

Then my UK return trip on DSC will take me back to Platinum.

Got the same message meaning one of my NZ flights has turned into a direct flight. I will follow the advice in here and show the original e-ticket to make sure I still get the 500 SCs.
