I believe this has always been the case
I think they might have counted when the loyalty bonus was first brought in, but if so QF later decided that was too generous and with later offers excluded them from counting.

I will be doing an overnight Syd- Melb-Auck-Melb-Syd Arriving Sun 12:30am then departing Sun 0600.
Any recent experience to share with being classified as a transit pax and a pre departure Covid test?
I did MEL-BNE-AKL return in April on a status run. Arrived in AKL just after midnight NZ time then departed at 3pm NZ next day. Supervised RAT before at Melbourne airport. Results arrived in about 15 minutes, uploaded onto the NZ app then check-in could be done. As it was all one ticket, the RAT needed to be completed before departing MEL rather than BNE. As long as it within 24 hours of departure you're fine.

I think you are right - it seems bonus SC counted to the loyalty bonus in the first DSC offer in 2017 after the loyalty bonus was introduced, but that was discontinued in 2018. It's certainly the case that DSC didn't count to loyalty bonus in the promos leading up to the pandemic.

I'm about to do my third CHC status run, zero-WP in 3 weeks. I'll be doing a big write-up on it.

It's brutal, but CHC is a pretty comfortable place to spend the 5-6 hours, and the lounge is lovely
I am keen to read about your experience as I have some MEL-AKL return SC runs coming up next month.

Ditto, 3 weeks - 3 runs, but all mine are AKL.
2 X night flights out of MEL
1 x day out of SYD.

Thank goodness I have retired and can sleep in the next day.

Transit closed and QF won't issue BPs for return journey as they want to check your DPD etc in AKL.

So test required per standard arriving pax procedure and check-in at the J lines from around 0400 (security opens 0430). A couple of benches on the left after exiting immigration are OK for a few hours kip.

Just FYI, I was issued my return segment in Australia prior to boarding my flights to NZ. I completely forgot that they had to check DPD so YMMV.

Just arrived into CHC this lovely morning. Autogates didn't work for me so I had a lovely chat with the immigration officer as to why I'm in CHC only for 5 hours. For those interested, I did end up putting CHC airport as the address in the NZTD.

OOL-MEL-SYD-CHC-BNE-MEL-OOL.

Sounds fun. CHC is probably a lot more bareable than KUL. Had some good (bad) times doing BKK-KUL-HKG x 8 over a week just to achieve WP back in 2015 and crazy overnights in MCO to achieve WP.

DSC and NZ sale fares make achieving QFWP a dream ;).

Does anyone know how long it on average for the DSC to be credited? It's 8 weeks in the T&Cs but I'm sure it's quicker than that?

I got them within a day.

On another note, I'm set to do my final run today. However, my MEL-SYD leg was cancelled and my new flight gives me just 1 hour transit to International at SYD. Last night I experienced the Kafkaesque nightmare that is Qantas customer service lines. Four hours of being cut off, explaining the situation to different people, unable to be transferred to another flight (their "system didn't allow" them to put me into Y for that leg on an earlier flight and there were apparently no J seats left, even though I could see them doing a simple flight search). So the upshot is, I'm still on the tight transit flight, but going to the airport super early in the hopes they can put me on an earlier flight.

Wish me luck

Starting my status run on this offer. Off to NZ via SYD. No queue for a COVID test at MEL and NZ travel declaration came in pretty much instantly after I submitted it.

Ummmm... are we going to be on the same flight? Are you going to CHC?

Sounds like yes, for the way over at least. I am not going to come back straight away though. Going to spend a couple of days in NZ. Using this J run to CHC plus a Flex Y trip to the UK to get back to WP (well I will overshoot what's needed but I wanted to do the trip to the UK anyway and Flex Y means I don't need to bid as many points for upgrades).

I let my WP slip in 2019 not expecting that there'd be a pandemic and extra bonus free one-off LTSC handed out in the first round of status support. Had I known that I would probably have spent the points to keep WP and get an extra 250/300 SC to my LT tally.

Looking at the lounge thread sounds like my flight to SYD is probably earlier than yours Lawlass, but we have the same flight to CHC.

I wanted to allow the maximum time I could for a connection and today I could a decent gap though not quite as much as I would have liked.

LOL they canceled my MEL-SYD leg and put me on the 5pm which would have been WAY too stressful so I got to the airport early and am now seated in 3A waiting to take off. See you in the SYD J ain’t lounge :)

In fact 3 MEL-SYD flights cancelled before 5 pm...

It's been a nightmare for me inbound as well. I had two flight cancellation and now I've accepted to be rerouted. Are this many cancellations usual or is it the public holiday?

BNE-MEL got cancelled and I got an earlier flight but MEL-OOL got cancelled as well. Now they're rerouting via SYD. I really didn't want to deal with claiming ORC but it looks like I'll have to.

For those doing a turnaround at CHC, customs and immigration don't open till 4:30am so expect to be stuck outside for a while.

My QFF app is still showing the 3pm flight as going ahead. I guess I better check the screens to make sure.

My flight back via BNE is at 6:10am. So does that mean no point turning up till around 4:30am? That seems awfully tight (though I am travelling HLO).

So for those doing NZ SC runs, am I reading correctly that you can't international transit currently in NZ? I have a run to AKL from MEL (via SYD) in August that is tight so am wondering if I will need to change one of the flights to have a bigger gap.

I did it pre DPD days. What time do you arrive and depart? If you can convince MEL staff to issue your returning BP and transit is open then it's definitely possible. I also recall that there was a service desk near the transit area as well but I could be misremembering.
