Why do they need AA Gold life status that badly?

Perhaps he thought that the million miles in the FF account made it worthwhile. 6 business class around the world tickets is not too shabby; the LT Gold makes a nice icing on the pudding

and probably took him a whole lot less effort than someone spending thousands of butt-in-seat hours and hours lost in airport security screening and gate lounges.

Smart cookie though; the promoters briefly tried to get out of it:
... When I contacted them, they sent me their form letter, saying they had no record of my order! This seems pretty incredible given that I mailed the package registered and someone on their end signed for the package. Plus, how can you loose a package this big? Thankfully, I made copies of everything, and took photographs just in case. When I sent them proof, they quickly sent me the miles. ...

I just had a quick look on the QANTAS website, and the option to get a quote/sign up for Life Membership seems to have gone. I can only see 1, 2 and 4 year options now.

What does Life Membership cost these days?

AUD4200, can be booked over the 'phone - See post #66 of this very thread.

Note THE TRIMMER's posts #104 and #106 - that it may no longer be available after 30th September (Actually 28th September as the Q-Club call centre is closed on weekends)..

I wonder if the QF service staff are in danger of missing their month end target so are telling people to buy now as something is in the wind ;)

At what age do you get to qualify for old timers life and what price?
Thanks.

Gee, a number of years to go yet! Well, just have make sure I don't slip below SG......as the rules stands now:shock:

Good thing that my dad is now QF Life member, but I had to increase the credit limit to fit it in.

On the ANZ increase in credit limit form it asked reason for increase. I put down travel although the real reason was to get more QF miles.

Yes; I decreased my ANZ limit some time ago as I didn't use it as much as the CBA credit card.

Has That Been Officially Confirmed TRIMMER?

YES .A FRIEND OF MINE WAS TOLD THAT YESTERDAY WHEN SHE INQUIRED,AS OF TOMORROW 28TH SEPTEMBER LIFE MEMBERSHIP WILL NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE.

I phoned the Qantas Club Service Centre this morning and they have advised that they close at 7pm Friday 28/9 and after this time QC life memberships will cease (for ever) to be obtainable.

So its either today or tomorrow for those who are keen.

I wonder if LTG will "cease (for ever) to be obtainable", another enhancement?

Seems like I did the right thing in getting it earlier this month, then.

Although as I'm currently travelling on a *A RTW trip, I'm looking at all those airport lounges, wishing I could go into them - if I had booked a One World Explorer, I would be in them all the way now!

I suspect that with Life Membership going, so will Senior Life, before you hit 60 and can qualify for it.
