Followed up qantas Holidays again, person still on "holidays"...must be Long Service !!!, I am not going to give up on this one, it should not be so hard to get what they were silly enough to offer because when you do the homework it's not impossible to find a better deal than what is on their website..Just make sure it is EXACTLY the same or better than theirs

Firstly, let me just say that I understand that Qantas have to be careful when offering this kind of price match guarantee. And while part of me expected to have my claim return unsuccessful (bitter pessimist) I think for what they pulled me up on to be quite nit picky considering all the other criteria were met and the other website (the hotel in question) was $15 a night cheaper... I will be sure to research more thoroughly next time and give Qantas a miss...

Good Afternoon,
Thank you for your recent enquiry in regard to the Hotels at qantas.com - Price Promise promotion.
After assessing your claim, we have found that one or more of the criteria that defines the Price Promise offering does not match that you have booked on Qantas.
...

a. The same hotel, the same dates, the same room type number of nights, bedding configurations and number of adults and children; Travel Online has just listed the hotel as “The Star” there is two hotels in this complex. For Qantas Holidays to price match this claim the correct hotel name must be present.
b. Accommodation to which the same or more favourable cancellation policy applies;Qantas Holidays cancellation fee starts 48 hours prior to arrival at the hotel. The hotel websites cancellation fees starts 72 hours prior to arrival. Therefore Qantas Holidays booking is better.
c. The same inclusions including, without limitation, meals, parking, internet access, late check out, room upgrade, transfers, gifts upon arrival etc.
d. A total price which is inclusive of all fees, taxes, surcharges, booking and any other fee of any nature and displayed in Australian dollars without use of a currency converter or, in the case of hotels based in New Zealand only, is displayed in New Zealand dollars.
e. Accommodation which comprises a stand alone product and is not part of a travel package;
f. Accommodation which is advertised, accessible and publicly available to book on the internet via an Australian registered website;
g. Accommodation all details of which can be ascertained from the relevant website. For the avoidance of doubt, any accommodation involving an unknown aspect such as destination or hotel shall not constitute Fully Comparable Accommodation

I've used the price promise for Hotels once. Got a response within 36 hours stating my claim had been approved.

Refund of difference was issued about a week after payment, initial points received about 3 weeks after hotel stay, extra 1,000 points about a month after that. No issues, no follow ups. And also noticed that qantas almost immediately changing their pricing to match that of the competitor I referred them to in my claim...
