I felt tested getting to yes but I did get there for this card this week.

Why BPay, there are other ways to pay that will earn points.

I found I've been able to stop using Bpay. Phoning the payment line is one way; then there's the firm's on-line payments. Paypal where accepted is another way.

I had to use Postbillpay for the local rates. I assume this doesn't count as Bpay. I could go to the Council offices and pay over the counter but it's hardly worth the effort.

I got one of these in a prior promotion. It's a good card and the 1:1 is a real benefit. The things I don't like are

3 Access to branches is mostly at the airports
Andy

You can use Westpac and its subsidiaries and Australia Post banking.

they really want me to work hard for this card.. got an email needing..

Your last 3 payslips
3 most recent statements of each credit card/store account that you hold – regardless of how much is owing
A recent 6 month statement of each personal loan/car loan/home loan that you have as well as transaction listing from statement end date to current
A rental income statement for each property that you own that is tenanted
A 6 month statement of the savings account that your pay is deposited to and a transaction listing from statement end to current

I better include the nick name of my favorite underpants too coz that question will come after this i am sure.

I got one of these in a prior promotion. It's a good card and the 1:1 is a real benefit. The things I don't like are
1 the payment has to be in their account on the due date not on its way. I have found that from CBA it takes 2 days. The late interest is harsh
2 the ability to do anything admin with them is painfully slow. To get a small increase in limit is 3 payslips and bank statements seems way over the top.

but like most cards there are good and bad
Andy

The delay is with CBA. I send from Westpac by 4pm and it's in there by 10am next day. Same with other banks.

CBA operate on go slow when it comes to transfers for some reason.

I've found CBA quite good and can initiate up to 6pm Sydney time and it shows up the next morning. There are some billers that can take longer to process but otherwise it's pretty good I've found.

Had a phone call yesterday from them to follow up a couple of queries on the documents I sent them. Advised that it would be sent on to another dept for finalising today. Whatever that means I'm not sure.
It's definitely not the quickest, smoothest CC application process but hopefully I'll get there :)

Isn't that against the bpay requirement to back date the payment to the processing date? They really can't charge you late interest in those circumstances.

The credit unions seems to have archaic manual processes for everything where the big banks do it all on systems. In some cases an application may not even be reviewed by a human unless it is flagged.

With all the application challenges .. has anyone applied for the MECU one, and have you had a better experience?

Yes. Their online application process seems more comprehensive and somebody phoned me within 2 days of applying asking for more supporting docs (some I don't have yet like last years notice of assessment), so my application is on hold until I can provide that. They seemed friendly enough, and no 100 page application.

No bonus points though I don't think.

Your next wait may be for the PIN. Then the next wait will be the credit card.
Before all that you get a list of what charges they can impose and rules and regulations.

I'm a patient princess, the scissors can wait for a little while longer ;)

For anyone who has received this card can you tell me if it has pay wave?
