Qantas Delays/Cancellations

QF172 from WLG left late yesterday - just about to taxi off and they changed our runway so had to wait longer. Flight seemed to take forever - was over 4 1/2 hours. So late into MEL for my connect QF701. But 701 was late - very late - we finally left about 10.30. Pilot said we'd been given dispensation to break the curfew as long as we landed by 11.20 and at that stage they were estimating 11.17 so he said we'd be going very low and very fast and it was particularly noisy. Finally made it home and even though it was late it was better than staying in Melbourne for the night.

On Friday 6 July, QF23 departed a little later than had been predicted, with pushback at 1045 (55 late) meaning BKK arrival at 1725, 45 late.

QF79 (0910 hours morning MEL up to NRT) departed 36 late and should pull in to its designated arrival gate at 1920 hours, 45 late.

The MEL - HKG QF35 was 29 minutes tardy in its departure, so arrival has become 1800 hours, 40 late.

QF129 had been amended to depart SYD at 1100 but this became 1146. PVG arrival is forecast as 2025, two hours late, so QF130 will be quite late into SYD on Saturday 7 July.

Thursday 5 July 2018's QF12 arrived LAX (ex JFK) 65 minutes late at 2205 where SYD-bound passengers transferred to the A388 on the ongoing sector, with departure at 2312 hours, 42 late meaning estimated Saturday SYD arrival at 0704, 34 minutes behind time.

'The 16' departed LAX 62 late at 0022 hours on Friday 6 with Saturday 7 arrival suggested at 0700, 55 late.

One doesn't often notice relatively low capacity B717s on QF BNE to MEL flights but it is occurring on Friday 6 July with QF1745, the 1600 hours that pointed skywards at 1642 (B717 VH-YQT) arriving at an estimated 1859 hours, 39 minutes tardy.

QF496 (B738 VH-VYK, the timetabled 1745 hours MEL - SYD that was not airborne until 1847) should be at its designated arrival gate at 1952, 42 late.

B738 VH-VXT on QF833, the 1820 hours CBR down to MEL took off at 1900. Arrival is at 2006 hours tonight, 36 late.

On Friday 6 July, QF822 (B738 VH-VXC, the 1930 hours MEL to CBR) took off at 2023, so arrival is forecast for 2118 hours, 43 late.

The 1855 hours CBR - PER (QF769, VH-VZS) took off at 1942 so a 33 minute late arrival at 2208 is predicted.

A332 VH-EBV is far worse, with its QF571, the scheduled 1735 hours late afternoon SYD across to PER not airborne until 2006. hence arrival has become a suggested 2241, 121 late.

On Friday 6 July, the delayed QF129 from SYD arrived in PVG at 2029 hours, with redeye QF130 pushing back at 2205. This means a Saturday 7 July SYD arrival at 1030, 125 minutes behind schedule.

Also on Friday, QF23 arrived at BKK at 1745, 65 late with QF24 departing at 1903, 53 late. SYD arrival on Saturday 7 at 0721 will be 56 minutes tardy.

QF80, the overnight NRT - MEL should arrive at 0818 hours, 33 minutes down. Although colleague QF62 (NRT - BNE) departed only 17 late at 2012, it arrived this morning at 0633, 38 minutes behind the timetable.

On Saturday morning 7 July 2018, MEL has been down to using a single runway (27)for the smaller plane flights so QF880, the 1005 hours MEL - OOL (B738 VH-VXT) did not become airborne until 1057 so it will be at least 35 minutes late arriving.

QF63 (1055 hours SYD across to JNB) departed at 1109 (B744 VH-OJT) but is expected to be half an hour late arriving at 1730 hours.

A388 VH-OQB on QF127, the 1035 hours SYD - HKG departed at 1103. It took off at 1134 with arrival expected at around 1835, 35 late.

The 0910 hours MEL - NRT, like all Japanese flights, is often punctual but on 7 July, it pushed back at 1027, resulting in forecast arrival at 1930, 55 minutes late.

QF35, the 1155 hours MEL - SIN is predicted to depart 35 late, arriving at 1825, half an hour behind.

QF430, the 1200 'high noon' 7 July MEL - SYD has A332 VH-EBF and should arrive at 1359 hours, 34 late as it took off at 1248 hours.

Looks like the QF35 departed MEL 2 hours late today but with a short flying time of just 6hrs38mins it is expected in to SIN just 1 hour and a bit late.

A333 VH-QPG arrived at 1022, just under two hours late in SYD on Saturday 7 July on QF130 ex PVG. It then formed QF33 to KIX that took off at 1237 hours, so arrival tonight is set for 2113 hours. 123 late.

The 2325 QF118 HKG-SYD service on 7 July appears to be delayed by 1h55 for a new ETD of 0120 on 8 July.

Looks like the QF35 has 'lost' time. Now expected to arrive 2 hours late. Matching the 2 hours late departure time.

QF36 still scheduled on time for departure - so maybe an aircraft swap.

Interestingly - as a side note - check out the codeshares on the QF36... 10 in total!

Friday night's 2320 hours LAX - BNE, QF16, did not depart until 0329 hours on Saturday 7 - unpleasant timing - so it has only just arrived on Sunday 8 in BNE at 0956 hours, 231 minutes late. QF15, the 1010 hours BNE - LAX is expected to depart at 1215 this afternoon, arriving 95 late at 0735 hours. This will delay the 0820 hours QF11 that is formed by this B744 to LAX.

B744 VH-OJS arrived in SYD on QF28 (from SCL) at 1821 hours, 31 late but the next day, 8 July, saw it depart for SFO at 1353, 68 late. It quickly took off at 1405 so same day arrival should be at 0942 hours, 37 minutes tardy.

The delayed QF15 (BNE - LAX) departed pretty much as predicted at 1213 hours, 123 late, but arrival has become 0750, 110 late, somewhat later than had been forecast. 8 July's QF11 is showing as loikely to depart LAX at 0945 hours, 85 late with arrival at 1805 instead of 1640.

Continuing with Sunday 8 July, QF442 (1500 hours mid afternoon MEL - SYD, A332 VH-EBA that took off at 1628 hours) should arrive at 1742, 77 late.

The 2320 hours Saturday 7 July LAX - BNE QF16 departed 66 minutes late, so Monday 9 arrival is estimated as 0714 hours, 69 minutes tardy. This should be in plenty of time to form the 1010 hours QF15 back to LAX.

QF2 returned to LHR earlier after 5 hours into flight due to an issue with #3 engine.

To clarify, this was the 2115 hours scheduled ex LHR on Saturday 7 July. It subsequently departed a day late on Sunday evening, 8 July, at 2109 hours with SIN arrival estimated at 1708 hours.

It must be designated QF2D to avoid confusion with Sunday night's ex LHR. The delayed flight appears to have A388 VH-OQI but the aircraft that had to turn back to LHR was VH-OQD, which is on the Sunday night QF2 from LHR.

With Sunday 7 July's QF15 (BNE - LAX delayed), the flow on effect was a departure from LAX of QF11 at 0953 hours, 93 minutes tardy with arrival in JFK at 1815 hours, 95 late. The 1810 hours return flight, QF12 should depart at 1950 with a predicted 75 minute late arrival in LAX at 2215, delaying the different aircraft (A388 not B744) on QF12 to SYD.

On Monday 9 July, QF1545, the 0845 hours BNE down to CBR morning flight with B717 VH-NXQ took off at 0927 hours and should arrive at 1105, half an hour behind schedule.
