B789 VH-ZNH on the c.24 hours delayed QF9 from DRW to LHR took off at 2314 after departing at 2258 hours on Sunday 23 January 2022, so Monday 24 arrival in LHR is estimated as 0620 hours, 1410 minutes late (23.5 hours).

QF10(D) is still suggested as departing 24 hours late at 1120 hours today from LHR.

It's unusual for the recently reinstituted QF23 (1030 hours SYD up to BKK) to run badly late but on Monday 24 January 2022, it is not expected to push back until 1415, guaranteeing that QF24 overnight back to SYD will be significantly tardy.

UPDATE: A333 VH-QPJ took off at 1511, later than expected, so forecast BKK arrival has become 2018, 248 minutes tardy. Tis will delay QF24 (the redeye 1755 hours BKK - SYD) until at least 2130 in its pushback, meaning SYD arrival tomorrow at 1025 hours or later.

The delayed QF24 arrived in SYD at 1048 this morning (203 minutes tardy), later than suggested.

Monday 24 January's QF69, the 0925 hours, did not take off until lunctime (1210 hours) with the ADL stop commencing at 1245. A332 VH-EBS then took off at 1424, arriving DEL at 2103 hours, 173 minutes late. QF70, the 1955 hours was airborne at 2309 with Tuesday 25 arrival in MEL becoming 1603, 148 minutes behind the eight ball.

Also on Monday, the almost 24 hours late QF10(D) arrived MEL at 2013, just 12 minutes short of that.

QFi's Indian flights have largely been cancelled due to India imposing mandatory seven days' quarantine on arrival, not restrictions on passenger numbers as we discussed above. This has seen passenger demand hugely decrease.

I assume passengers would not be eligible for a refund as it's them deciding not to travel, not QFi.

QF67/68 SYD-ADL-DEL-SYD are again cancelled on Australia Day, 26 January 2022.

Australia Day 2022 also sees QF103, the shortlived SYD - HNL flight that is apparently ceasing at the end of January taking off at 2047 with class leader A333 VH-QPA. Same day arrival should be 69 minutes late at 0919 hours. The aircraft has stabled in SYD all day after arriving from HNL as QF104 six minutes early at 0824.

In further on 26 January, QF2, the 0950 hours LHR- DRW with B789 VH-ZNB was in the sky at 1025, arriving on Thursday 27 at 1226 hours, 41 minutes behind the timetable. The second sector (the 1315 hours) saw takeoff 59 minutes later, so SYD arrival tonight should be about 1939, 34 minutes tardy.

QF67 is operating today, being expected to arrive DEL early, but as per 'usual' is cancelled tomorrow - 28 January. However QF69 from MEL and ADL, and QF70 from DEL: should be flying tomorrow so it's possible anyone booked ex SYD sees themselves on an early morning domestic flight to the southern capital if flying to Inia, or on 29 January a MEL - SYD QFd offering.

A reminder of pre-virus times when the airlines were busier and late running compounded, but on Friday 28 January 2022 it's more the stormy weather around Melbourne that sees QF445, the 1300 hours lunchtime SYD down to MEL that was up up and away only about seven minutes late at 1319 with B738 VH-VZA having to hold over Mt Buller.

Expected arrival has thus become 1511, 36 minutes tardy.

VH-VXO, the 1420 hours MEL north to BNE (QF620) is still on the ground with 2 VAds and a NZ ahead of it awaiting takeoff, so it should be at least half an hour late arriving in the Sunshine State's capital.

QF10, the 1120 hours LHR - DRW on Thursday 27 January 2022 took off at 1144 (VH-ZNC). Today (Friday 28) arrival was 1359 hours, 44 minutes behind the timetable. It was again airborne at a further delayed 1614 with MERL arrival shortly at 2132, 67 minutes past the allotted.

This B789 appears to be forming QF93, the 2255 hours MEL - LAX that's likely to depart at least half an hour late.

While QF67 SYD-ADL-DEL is operating today (Saturday 29 January), and is estimated to arrive DEL at 1538, two minutes early, it's again cancelled tomorrow, as of course is QF68 back "express" to SYD.

These flights are cancelled more often than they run. The seven days' compulsory quarantine on arrival in India must be a huge disincentive to travel.

Friday 28 January's QF2 was in the sky above LHR at 1016, so only about five minutes late, but Saturday 29 DRW arrival did not take place until 1237, 52 minutes behind. Takeoff for SYD was at 1428, just under an hour late with B789 VH-ZND arriving at 1958, 53 minutes tardy.

On the last day of January, a Monday, QF67 SYD-ADL-DEL and QF68 DEL-SYD will again be cancelled.

QF103 (1920 hours SYD up to HNL) also got the axe. This flight will permanently cease soon, as apparently numbers have been below expectations.

February 2022 commences with QF1010, the 0835 hours morning flight from SYD up and across to NAN cancelled. It's rainy in Fiji - to be expected at this time of year.

This morning QF404 (0615 hours MEL to SYD), QF408 (0645 hours) and QF412 (0715 hours) were cancelled, presumably due to insufficient passenger numbers. The quarter hour frequency was once a staple for QAN on this route during peak times. No more.

Although I lack statistics because like most, I do not have access to the online timetables of three or four years ago, widebodied A332s are used less on MEL - SYD - MEL than was the case years ago. The capacity reduction is magnified when this is taken into account.

On Sunday 30 January, QF2 took off from LHR with B789 VH-ZNF at 1016, only a few minutes late, arriving DRW on Monday 31 at 1215, half an hour behind. It then became airborne from DRW at 1410, 55 minutes after scheduled pushback, arriving SYD at 1940 hours, 35 minutes behind.

Monday 31's QF2 from LHR was in the sky at 1017, almost identical to the previous day, with DRW arrival estimated at 1244 hours, 59 late. I assume the winds have been more against this flight than the previous day's. Both flights took/are taking a similar route. This will inevitably mean a delayed arrival into SYD tonight.

QF10 (1120 hours ex LHR) on 31 January took off at 1145 with slated DRW arrival today 1357, 42 minutes tardy, so the arrival of VH-ZNJ will be similarly delayed into MEL this evening.

QF103, the Wednesday 2 February 2022 SYD - HNL has been cancelled, so QF104 back also won't operate. This route apparently ceases soon despite its recent gestation. Bookings have been poor.

Wednesday 2 February 2022 had QF10, the 1120 hours late morning LHR - DRW take off at 1206 so on Thursday 4 for VH-ZNA, DRW arrival was 1414 hours, 59 minutes tardy, and takeoff a greater delayed 1613, arriving MEL at 2135, 70 minutes behind schedule.

On Saturday 5 February, QF2 took off from LHR at 1018 with VH-ZND so arrival on Sunday 6 at DRW is estimated as 1223 hours, 38 minutes late. Provided the stay in DRW doesn't increase from the timetabled allowance, a close to on time SYD arrival could still be possible.

Also on 5, QF10 arrived in MEL 34 minutes late at 2059.

The Monday 7 February QF75 (2010 hours redeye, SYD northeast to distant YVR) should depart tonight at 2200, with arrival expected same day at 1650 hours, also 110 minutes late.

It is unusual for this flight to arrive YVR more than 20 minutes late, at least for those times my eyes have made contact with FR 24 flight details.

This looks to be B789 VH-ZNF (same gate number) that arrived from LHR and DRW as QF2 at 1857, eight minutes early.

The second time the resumed QF7 (SYD-DFW) operated was on Wednesday 16 February, arriving at 1535, 25 minutes early.

However the return is delayed, with the 2020 hours scheduled pushback turning into a 2131 takeoff, so on Friday 18,. SYD arrival is expected at 0708 hours according to QF, or 0750 according to FR24. The first would be 63 minutes tardy; the FR24 suggestion means 105 behind the timetable.

QF1 arrived LHR on Friday 18 February at 0510 hours, five minutes late with B789 VH-ZNE.

QF9 took off on Thursday 17 from DRW at 2327, about 10-15 minutes late but on Friday 18 arrived LHR at 0721 hours, 31 minutes tardy.

However QF2, the 0950 hours from LHR to DRW and on to SYD has been altered to depart at 1320 hours, probably because of Storm Eunice that is expected to have damaging winds for much of the day. It is predicted to be in DRW on Saturday 19 from 1510 to 1635 hours, arriving SYD at 2215. Always possible that unless a curfew dispensation is granted, passengers may only make it on Saturday as far as Darwin (assuming LHR stays open for departures), but the Coaltion government in Canberra seems to have its delegate grant almost all 'curfew' requests re SYD.

Similarly, the 1120 hours LHR - DRW - MEL QF10 should depart mid afternoon at 1510 and be in DRW on Saturday 19 from 1710 to 1835, arriving in MEL at 0020 on Sunday 20, five minutes shy of four hours late.
