Wednesday 14 June 2023 sees QF12, the LAX-SYD (A388 VH-OQH) estimated to arrive 38 late at 0823 hours.

As mentioned above, VH-OQB on 'the 2' had been delayed taking off from LHR, so on Tuesday, it spent from 1944 hours 134 late) to takeoff at 2142 hours in SIN, with arrival on Wednesday (this morning) in SYD at 0638 hours, 88 minutes tardy.

Continuing with 14 June, QF67, the morning 0905 hours SYD-BLR (A332 VH-EBQ) was not pointing skywards until 1049 hours, so predicted gate arrival in the Indian 'IT city' becomes 1805 hours, 105 minutes tardy.

Following its late arrival in Sydney this morning, VH-OQB (A388) on 'the 11', the nicely timed 1020 hours SYD-LAX is expected to push back at 1200 'high noon', although as usual at this time of year in this direction it should make up time en route, so it may be under 75 minute slate arriving if it manages to keep to the proposed off blocks time.

QF19 from SYD to MNL, the 1215 hours, is predicted to depart 15 late but observation of previous flights indicates that suggested delays like this often rise.

Continuing with the previous post, QF11 took off at 1253 from Sydney so same day Los Angeles arrival at gate will be around the 0822 hours mark, 77 minutes tardy, so as suggested above, it'll pick up some time en route (thanks to favourable winds).

Yes, SYD always goes to either MEL or BNE and MEL or BNE always goes to SYD. As the QF25 is there from this morning and QF79 is on it's way, there is no disruption tonight.

On Wednesday 14 June 2023, QF63 arrived JNB 29 minutes late at 1639 hours with B789 VH-ZNF. The return (1740 hours JNB-SYD) is more delayed, as it took off at 1844 with Thursday 15 arrival slated for about 1412, 47 behind.

A332 VH-EBQ on QF68 (redeye BLR down to SYD) should arrive at around 1045 this midmorning, 45 minutes tardy.

A388 VH-OQJ on QF2 ex London Heathrow should arrive Singapore late this arvo local time at 1808 hours, 38 behind as last night it did not become airborne until 2156 hours, 61 minutes after its timetabled 2055 pushback.

Continuing with Thursday 15, the mid afternoon flagship QF1 is said to be delayed at least 25 minutes in pushback, from SYD at 1535 instead of 1510 for the journey to LHR via SIN. I don't normally post delays (or expected ones) of under half an hour but past history shows this sort of estimate tends to rise.

Earlier, A333 VH-QPG on the 1200 'high noon' QF35 on the raltively short MEL-SIN flight took off at 1234 with arrival predicted at gate as 1834, 34 behind.

'The 63' from SYD to JNB today has class leader B789 VH-ZNA and is only 19 late as the forecast into JNB at 1629, but the 1740 hours rteurning flight (QF64) is displaying on FR24 as departing 40 minutes tardy at 1820 local time.

QF81 (1150 hours late morning SYD-SIN) is normally good, but today it's delayed until an expected 2000 in its pushback. It's displaying as an A333, not A332. My guess is this means SIN arrival will be 0230 hours local time on Friday 16, or later.

In more on 15 June, QF103 yesterday morning (14 June) HNL time arrived at 1003 hours, 22 minutes early, so creditable. However its aircraft, A333 VH-QPJ, was then on the 1200 'high noon' HNL-SYD that was in the sky at a much delayed 1540 hours, almost 200 minutes behind schedule. Tonight, its SYD arrival at gate looks to be 2146 hours, 186 late.

QF25 (2020 hours SYD-HND) is only showing an expected pushback delay of 25 minutes, and fortunately there's no QF103 to HNL tonight.

In a previous post re the extensive delay tonight to QF81, I omitted that QF36, the 2015 hours mid evening SIN-MEL is as a result predicted to depart SIN at the unseemly time of 0340 hours, 445 minutes behind schedule. My estimate however is for 'the 81' not to arrive prior to 0230, so 0340 hours (a 70 minute turnaround) seems optimistic. Time will tell.

IIRC, QF25 may have not been an A332 since its recommencement, or if it has, it's been rare.

On Thursday 15 June 2023, A332 VH-EBR operated from PER to SYD as QF648 (the 1240 hours airborne at 1329) arriving at the domestic terminal at 1901 hours, 16 minutes late, before it transferred to international and took off on QF25 not long ago at 2135. On Friday 16, HND at gate arrival is estimated as 0603 hours, 38 minutes behind schedule.

The frequent unpunctuality of QF25 rarely occurred pre-COVID, but search this thread for Flyer25's comments as he has mentioned once or twice that the northern winter timetable will minimise this issue as QF25 apparently becomes a daily B789 not A333(A332 occasionally).

'The 81' departed SYD at 2149 hours on Thursday 15 June with QFi maintaining it'll arrive SIN at 0350 hours, 80 minutes later than I'd predicted. At 2204, it didn't appear to have taken off, and strangely was not visible on FR24 at SYD. QF36 will obviously be unable to depart until at least 0530 from SIN on Friday morning, a terrible time for passengers as it means having the joy of waiting beyond security at times like 0430.

UPDATE: QF81 reappeared on the FR24 page with A333 VH-QPD that had been in SYD all day after arriving at 0836 hours, 14 early, as QF26 overnight from HND. It was delayed in takeoff tonight, waiting for QF652 from PER, JQ421 from OOL and JQ825 from BNE to land, the first two being early. FJ915 arriving from NAN about 28 minutes late was the cause of sitting out more minutes at the runway's extremity. It took off from 34L at 2218 hours, the only runway in use.

QF81 is estimated to arrive SIN at 0421 hours on Friday 16, 606 minutes late.

QF36 is suggeated as departing SIN tomorrow morning at 0535 hours but this is unlikely, unless 'the 81' arrives earlier than predicted. MEL arrival tomorrow afternoon should be at 1505 hours according to QFIi, but highly likely to be later. 1505 would be 565 minutes tardy.

A332 VH-EBQ on Thursday 15 June's QF19, the 1215 hours lunchtime SYD-MNL arrived at 1900 hours, only 10 minutes tardy, but the return (redeye) QF20 (the 2035 hours) did not take off until 2325. SYD arrival on Friday 16 should be at about 0852 hours, 132 minutes behind schedule.

The hugely delayed Thursday QF81 (SYD-SIN) arrived this morning at 0422 hours, 607 minutes late with A333 VH-QPD. It rapidly turned around with QF36, the Thursday night 2015 hours SIN-MEL airborne at 0558 hours SIN time, about 25 minutes ago. Arrival at Tulla should be at approximately 1446 hours (later than I'd suggested), 546 minutes behind schedule.

B738 VH-VZB, operating todays scheduled QF790 SYD-ASP, pushed back 39min late this morning and took off 29 min later, after earlier operating QF591 OOL-SYD. It then turned back to SYD around 90 min into the flight, just shy of Cameron’s Corner, with a tech fault. Most pax on the returning QF791 were rebooked onto the ASP-MEL QF797. A replacement service was scheduled to leave SYD at 1510 AEST but is yet to depart.

Still on Friday 16 June, QF103, the 2040 hours mid evening SYD-HNL is delayed to an expected 2200 hours. A333 VH-QPE is showing as the aircraft: it's been in Sydney for almost 24 hours, so not sure why the delay. Perhaps connecting passengers are tardy?

A332 VH-EBQ on the morning 0905 hours SYD-BLR (QF67) was airborne at an easy time to remember, 1111 hours so gate arrival should be approximately 1812 hours, 112 minutes behind schedule. QF68 will be delayed, but may pick up time en route overnight.

UPDATE: QF103 thankfully snuck out from SYD earlier than expected, becoming airborne at 2156 tonight. HNL Friday morning arrival should be at around 1059 hours, 34 behind, making it impossible for the 1200 'high noon' QF104 to depart punctually. Rinse, repeat.

The Thursday 15 June QF12 (A388) is displaying as delayed overnight ex LAX, allegedly pushing back at an estimated 1130 on Friday 16 June. This will mean arrival in SYD on Saturday night at 1900 hours or after: QFi suggests 1925 hours.

B789 VH-ZNM, the newest QFi addition, on QF9 (1505 hours mid afternoon Friday 16 MEL-PER) was in the sky at 1815 hours in the early evening, arriving at gate at 2011 hours, 176 minutes late. The onwards leg to London Heathrow is not predicted to depart until 2315 Perth time, 270 minutes late. Could this be to do with crew (un)availability earlier?

If the delay is much more, it may see QF10 on Saturday 17 departing late from LHR.

Friday's QF63 SYD-JNB (B789 VH-ZNH) was delayed 12 hours 1 minute for a 22:01 AEST Sydney departure. Arrival into Jo'burg is now expected to be at 03:50 SAST Saturday morning. The return QF64 is even further delayed (in part due to the Sydney curfew), for an expected 14:00 SAST departure on Saturday, 20 hours 20 minutes late. The same delay carries through to a revised Sydney arrival at 09:45 AEST Sunday.

B789 VH-ZNM, the newest QFi addition, on QF9 (1505 hours mid afternoon Friday 16 MEL-PER) was in the sky at 1815 hours in the early evening, arriving at gate at 2011 hours, 176 minutes late. The onwards leg to London Heathrow is not predicted to depart until 2315 Perth time, 270 minutes late.

The onward flight got away at 22:53 AWST, with revised Heathrow arrival of 09:25 BST Saturday, 260 minutes late. The return QF10 is not showing any delay so should be away on time at 13:10 BST Saturday. There may be a deferred flow on when this flight crew is next rostered for QF10.

The 15 June QF8 flight out of DFW left the gate on time but then took 87 mins to get off the ground. WX north of the airport caused winds for initial departure to become unacceptable after takeoff clearance. Clearance cancelled, airport changed patterns and QF8 had to circumnavigate the airport on the ground for another hour before getting clearance again. Saturday is potentially another shocker for WX at DFW.
