Qantas DSC October 2024 Offer - book by 31/10/24 & fly 1/11/24-19/10/25

Not sure if this was answered already (but me being new) I just scrolled down to more flights until I found one that actually had a connection for domestic. The longest connection I found was like Sydney to OOL TO ADL to NZ but I think it was quite expensive
If you've got platinum, the route from Sydney or Melbourne layover will be made bearable at the first class lounge ;)

Esp Sydney if you want to meet Nestor!

I've not seen Nestor in ages. He doesn't seem to be on duty on a Friday afternoon.

Just got a 'last chance to register' e-mail from Qantas re DCS or DPs, having already registered and received confirmation e-mail. I guess I'll be in for a battle to claim, if flight taken.
Well, either that or Qantas' segmentation for that email simply hasn't factored in - or had visibility to - those FF members registered for the promotion? FWIW, I received the same email, so I suspect it was just a "blast" to all FF members.

Either way, always handy having screenshots and the email confirming your registration.

Nothing unusual there, I've received such reminders despite registering for and already booking flights in the promo period on all recent DSC offers. All DSCs still arrived, nothing to worry about.

I already know the answer to this question a but want to ask the forum as well.

Do QF NDC tickets issued by my work TA qualify for DSC?

My answer is yes - as long as the traveller is registered for DSC, the travel booking is completed before 31/10/24 and travel is between 01/11/24 and 19/10/24.

My work TA is not able to say for certain that I’d get DSC for some international travel next year for work booked today. I have registered for DSC.

What’s the thoughts of the forum on this pls?

The TA is being circumspect - really they should be across this.

You should earn if you comply ... if you have doubts, find another TA.

In this case, specifically, I can’t use a different TA as much as I want to. The program of work (new contract) uses a specific TA and we all have to go thru that company only.

I’m going to keep my fingers crossed - I have done everything right - registered before booking, booked and flown in with the right dates.

@Ade I had this very same issue with my travel agent yesterday. Was going to book a fare on NDC but she warned that the flexibility was not the same as one done on the GDS so I paid a little bit more and did it on the GDS. Note that she wasn’t talking about the DSC qualification - that was not in doubt - just it might be better to go GDS if you can.

NDC keeps throwing up wrinkles for my bookings and my travel agent. Might be cheaper but more difficult for the passenger.

Interesting. The fare on the GDS for the trip I need to take is approx $900 more than NDC. So obviously, work TA need to do the NDC fare only. It is the cheapest fare of the day. I will ask my manager and see if they'd allow me to cover that $900 difference out of pocket.

that’s a huge price differential and one that I’ve never come across before. It’s been maybe a matter of $100 or so on flights in the US (my one yesterday was only five dollars!) and in those cases I also went GDS and paid a bit more because the NDC was just too restrictive for changes, if I recall correctly.

i’m pretty sure the NDC booking will give you DSC. Is just a matter of whether the terms of the fare suit you or not.

Just wanted to check, if for whatever reason your plans change and you need to change a fully flex booking, is the correct way to refund to a flight credit, and then use that flight credit to book a new flight?

IT shouldn't matter what platform the fare is booked on you should still earn DSC as long as it on QF Metal and Flight Number and you were registered for the DSC Promotion.

I think you could just change your flights on the website. Never done it though, my travel agent looks after most of my bookings

If you just want to change the date or time or class, you can do so easily online via "modify booking".

If you are wanting to change the route, add more legs etc then yes easiest is to cancel for a credit then use that credit for a new itinerary within the travel period of the DSC offer.

You say the "booking period" @Lynda2475 would that mean in this instance by 11.59 pm 31 October?

Reason I ask is, I booked J flights last DSC.
Qantas subsequently cancelled the flights.
I took the credit, with same PNR booked new flight, different destination, different dates though will be in designated travel period.
Any other insights welcome.

Apologies edited to make clearer, I meant during the travel period of the DSC offer i.e. the credit would need to be used on flights that depart on or before 19th Oct 2025

This will be fine, I have done the same myself in previous offers.
