Qantas DSC October 2024 Offer - book by 31/10/24 & fly 1/11/24-19/10/25

I think a Feb/March offer is likely.

Whether there will be another Sept/Oct(?) offer and if it will be targeted or for all would seem far less certain.

QF offering two DSC offers last year suggests that loads are not as high as they would like, at least not without offers like this to help stimulate demand.

Could be any time between start of February and the end of March based on the last few years. I have a trip to New York for a round birthday to do in July, I'm unlikely to get a sale fare as its during the school holidays, so I'm waiting for that offer.

I had 4 DSC sectors this week and they posted 24hrs after my arrival.
Has this been the same for most people or are some taking much longer?

I flew a DSC booking last week and still haven’t had the DSC post - the standard SC for the flight posted within 24 hours (they were already there the first time I opened the app again the day after the flight).

Maybe because it’s the holiday period? I’m hoping I don’t have to chase QFF for this…

Prompt, within 48 hours for me for flights over Christmas.

My DSC also posted within a day or 2, so if you haven't got them after 2 weeks I would maybe contact the QFF email?

Are you sure you're not excluded if you're based in London? Most QFF promos have T&Cs that say for AU/NZ residents only. When I was living in the US I kept my QFF address as a family members address in Australia for this reason.

So I tried today to change my outback country trip to a regular couple of domestic routes.

Interesting that I wasn't able to change the flex fare flight into regular economy flights. I thought it was possible but apparently not.

What I was able to do was cancel for a voucher, which gave me the same PNR. I was then able to use that voucher credit to purchase the flights that I wanted.

Let's see if I get the DSC now ..

Update on this, as others mentioned will get the DSC.

Took the first of 3 flights on my updated booking (via voucher). Flight taken on 3th January 2025, DSC points arrived on 5th January 2025.

Perhaps I'm overthinking this but I had always assumed the October 2024 DSC offer was a one-off direct response to the changes in Velocity's program that was announced the previous week, in order to try and tempt some Velocity members over to Qantas.

...and/or a deliberate distraction for the QF AGM that was scheduled in "Hobart" the day following the DSC announcement.

Apologies if already asked and answered.

If you get offered a free fly ahead from QF (which happens to me more often than not on the golden triangle), do you still automatically get the double status?

Assuming should be fine as PNR is not impacted and travel date same.

This!

Basically, the PNR confers the double status credits. If that doesn't change, then eligible flights within the timeframe should credit double even if the flights change from the original booking.

Does this mean that if you ask for a fly ahead that you lose out on the DSC?

No it does not. Double status credits or points are linked to the booking reference which doesn’t change when you fly ahead, change flights etc.
