heres my suggestion .Current situation on the same date/same booking. Previously was BNE-MEL-CHC. Now booking has MEL-CHC and BNE-MEL separately.

I hate the 8-10am flights leaving AU for NZ as they "waste" a day. I'll look for a rebooking on an afternoon flight that arrives around midnight in NZ.heres my suggestion .
For the brisbane to Melbourne ask to go the night before .
Yes you'll need to request for ORCIf I get rescheduled to be like Syd -AKL, could i get still double status credits as per original booking?
Keep your boarding passes . Also take a screen shot now of the status credits earning on your computer so you can show them .Hi, I have a status run this Saturday from SYD-OOL-MEL-AKL. The SYD-OOL and OOL-MEL-AKL segments are separate bookings. I’m wondering if Qantas might cancel or reschedule due to the cyclone. They might do you syd Mel akl or syd Auckland . But submit orcHi, I have a status run this Saturday from SYD-OOL-MEL-AKL. The SYD-OOL and OOL-MEL-AKL segments are separate bookings. Hi, I am in a similar boat. MEL-BNE-AKL all in J on Saturday as part of the DSC promo. BNE is not closed yet but trying to understand my options regarding ORC.status run this Saturday from SYD-OOL-MEL-AKL
qantas website says they contact you so check sms emails dailyTried to call but it took forever and gave up. I reckon I will just have to wait. prob get to the airport on the day to see how it goes.
Another issues is are you prepared for economy what if business sold out ??Hi, I am in a similar boat. MEL-BNE-AKL all in J on Saturday as part of the DSC promo. BNE is not closed yet but trying to understand my options regarding ORC.
An obvious alt is just take the MEl-AKL direct however am I correct in presuming that I have to wait to be forced to change (if required) to even be eligible or ORC?
Say for example, on Sat at MEL check-in it is known there are major delays getting into and out of brisbane such that I would miss the connection etc, but my flight isn't actually cancelled. If I ask to be rebooked on MEL-AKL would I be eligible for ORC as this is still technically a voluntary change?
I did consider that implication as well. We'd have to take it if that is all there is. Provided I can still get my business SCs with DSC I'll be a happy camper. Once those are locked in then I'll ask for compensation for the downgrade lol.Another issues is are you prepared for economy what if business sold out ??
Welcome to AFF @FlyingCasually hope it all pans out without too much drama.I did consider that implication as well. We'd have to take it if that is all there is. I wouldn’t be asking for refund . Because they might cancel your bookingWelcome to AFF @FlyingCasually hope it all pans out without too much drama.
In the Newbie Question thread, read my post #2571 re downgrade and refund/compensation.
Whatever happens, keep your physical boarding passes and emails of change notifications.
Also the see the Qantas PE downgrade to Economy thread.
Good luck!
Accept downgrade.I wouldn’t be asking for refund . Because they might cancel your booking
Agree re ORC @JIMMYTHEJETI would ask for orc ,after flight
but sometimes then compensation may not apply cause you agree to downgraded flight
i would also push for business class all the way politely . Even via sydney .Accept downgrade.
Fly.
Then apply for refund of fare difference.
Agree re ORC @JIMMYTHEJET
But best to get fare difference with downgraded class fare sorted and compensation - need to have conversation rather than email @FlyingCasually
Wait a bit, then email for ORC as that is important for your status run.
