Qantas Error Fare: First Class to Los Angeles from Sydney $4,299 return @qantas.com (several dates incuding xmas holidays)

presumably that’s for two passengers, not each. Otherwise you’d be flying first class on SQ or JL!

Those fares might be artificially inflated for a short time while yield management works out the impacts of 300-1000 unexpected tickets!
yeah, wife and i- as i quoted my original post.

The flights ex SYD are sale fares, J was $5210 one way

So I responded to Qantas via their email saying that we want to cancel the booking (I made it for all 3 of us on my account)…I did after the fact when they offered the BC option split one passenger out from the booking as they wanted to cancel…then we all decided to cancel hence the email to Qantas…

So Qantas has called the other passenger on my booking twice (they could not answer the call) and I got an email…not acknowledging my cancellation but telling me that the passenger with the booking split out needs to send them a written doc with their signature as I cannot ask for their ticket to cancel…I am like sure but why is no one calling me - the person who made the booking - about the cancellation…I am like hmmm maybe it is a good thing we cancelled 😂😂

That is actually good policy.
I have no issue with this policy..I am just amused that they have not at least checked in with me re my booking and request to cancel…so passenger 2 who is on my booking with me gets a call but me passenger 1 gets no call or acknowledgment 😂😂

Thanks! Interestingly Qantas did call me after I posted on here to say that yes passenger 3 can send an email confirming they also want to cancel. I had also asked passenger 2 to do the same in case it was needed but the rep said it was not needed as we were on the same booking. Anyway, emails all sent now and so we await the cancellation being processed and a refund email being sent and hopefully the money back into our accounts within the next 4 weeks…

Refund for the purchase applied to my credit card overnight.
Did you get an email confirmation that the refund is being processed pls? We have not received anything and were told that we would get that email and then the refund could take up to 4 weeks…

Yes I got a confirmation email that they were processing the refund on 25 August.

My timeline of events was:

1. Replied to the "I'm sorry about the coding error" email that I wanted the full refund on Sunday morning.
2. Received a call from QF Sunday evening confirming I wanted to cancel with full refund.
3. Shortly after that call, an email confirming "Your refund has been processed".
4. Full refund appeared on my card overnight Monday into Tuesday.

Sure, the F price was great. And so is the (now) J offer. But people are bailing out? 🤔

I’ve travelled in J and F on the A380 and if I had managed to get this offer I’d take J in a flash.
I've been reading the thread over on Reddit about it - and it's a mixed bag of people believing they should be entitled to a F seat, and others trying to point out that no, you're not.
