The current Americas sale is $5,999 ex MEL and SYD to YVR. Looks like the sale fare flights out go via SYD from MEL (so bonus SCs).

Look carefully at the return flights that bounce through LAX. The first flight might book into whY or PE rather than First.

This is at least the 3rd time this YVR sale fare has been on, so seats are probably limited - unless booking closer to 12mth out. Also, if you’re heading further east in Canada you can book open jaw into YVR and say home from YUL etc (for a couple $100 more).
