Sounds like a staff member who isn't aware of the new rules.
New rules that aren't so new... How hard is it to read the new signs haha

I think some older signs might still be floating around... either way, Gold are entitled.

Hmmm, I was just advised that PB was for platinum and business only, hence my presence on this thread to see if anything had changed.
Fortunately, I did't have to do the walk of shame as I was just enquiring whether I could still use PB when accompanied by my partner who's bronze. Apparently I can, but only if I'm entitled.
With regard to the general change. I think it's reasonable. If you only fly short domestic hops at 10 or 20 SC's a go, you could be a very loyal Qantas customer and yet never get past SG. A bit of help getting on those numerous flights is nice
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
No guessing which way will access to domestic business lounges will go if this dilution of Platinum benefits keep going!!
Once that happens good bye flying Qantas regularly, hello Virgin
... BTW where were you?
For PER boarding, the mining boom and associated FIFO destroyed any hope of a reasonable QF priority boarding scheme. When half the plane has QF WP or SG status, status value is degraded.
I know that I will produce some contrary views, but the AA (domestic) boarding scheme still makes sense to me. Perhaps since I have mostly been at the beginning of such lists.

And it seems that this is reasonably well enforced (and followed). Are Ozzies so chaotic that such a list would not work?
Or is boarding an A330 that much more complicated?
Happy wandering

After reading this thread and my last post (I was in the Adelaide lounge at the time), I again approached the service desk on the way out and specifically asked the question. I was told "Business and Platinum only, it's always been like that". I explained that it had changed in December last year. This was denied. I explained I'd just been sitting in the lounge checking the Qantas website and that there was a twenty page discussion on FF. It was suggested I was confusing Priority Check in with Priority Boarding, I pushed the point until I reached the "Sorry Sir, those are the rules" stage and gave up.
I was flying business anyway so didn't care but really! I only wanted them to check but they knew the rules and I didn't. Pity, they're usually quite nice to me in Adelaide.

No one ever gets kicked out of the priority boarding queue anyway, so what does it matter if they know you're entitled to it or not?
Nutwood was told not to use it.
Only because he asked for permission first. If he'd just used it nothing would have been said.
ADL was miles behind in introducing PB at all, so it's par for the course that they're miles behind in the changes.
The staff at ADL originally tried to argue that the design of the gates meant that PB was impossible
